This was a pretty simple hunt. Just a hellhound, after all. An oversized dog was way easier to deal with than lots of other creatures. And the woods was where she was most comfortable. It may have been able to hide in all the trees and vines, but so could she. Arguably, she would be better at it. She stood completely still. Quiet. Waiting. Until the creature was distracted enough for her to continue the chase. She fell, just harsh enough to scrape her palms, before quickly picking herself back up and huddling against a tree while the hellhound looked around for the source of the noise. She summoned her bow and grabbed one of her arrows for the quiver on her back. When the monster looked away, she slowly drew her bow and aimed.

Edan appeared, leaning against a tree. He felt that Sophia was in danger. Once he was there, he looked in the general direction of the blood hound. He felt something evil about. At least, that's what the voudouisants would call it. He stayed quiet, unsure whether making noise would make the spirit? Or whatever it was. Angry.
Sophia still wasn't sure if she wanted Edan to leave, but he did anyways. It was whatever. She said he could, and she didn't do anything to make it seem like she wanted him to stay. Still, almost as soon as he left, her room felt a lot darker. Normally, being a child of the literal moon herself, darkness was just fine. Especially since she didn't have to worry about the darkness swallowing up her leg. Sometimes she still felt the echo of the old pain. Maybe she just wasn't used to not having it, so her brain was trying to fill in the gaps. But darkness didn't seem so fun when that Boogeyman could just come and eat her. She didn't turn off the nightlight, but still. Eventually she shadow traveled down to the nursery, sitting against a wall and hugging her knees. She did end up putting on her jacket for whatever reason, but she left her backpack in her room.

"Hey. Couldn't fall asleep?"
Edan asked casually, rocking Charlotte in the chair as she slept. It was so much easier for Charlotte to fall asleep while being held by somebody. And Edan preferred to keep her at arms length. He wouldn't let her get kidnapped again.
Sophia used her prism and one of the new drachmas Edan gave her to send him another message. How she was feeling right now was complicated, as was clear in her expression. She was beyond excited that she finally finished making her cranes, but she was also nervous that something somehow would go wrong and it would have all been for nothing. There was still a hint of that restlessness and terror from earlier, but she tried to forget her dreams and her racing thoughts. It would probably happen again, soon enough, and she would just have to sit in that panic. Oh well.
"Uhm... Hi," she finally spoke up.

Edan coughed and his drink disappeared into thin air. He didn't expect Sophia to be calling him while he was working on the dreamcatcher for her, especially not while he was drinking his wine.
The Fairy Queen from Creno Lake, as she is described by Madame Marini in the corse folk tale "jump into my sack!" (Saute en mon sac!), collected by Jean-Baptiste Frédéric Ortoli, and adapted by Italo Calvino for his "italian folktales".
"...he faced not the old woman, but the most beautiful maiden imaginable, all radiant with diamonds and blond hair; she wore a deep blue dress, embroidered with gold, and two stars of precious stones sparkled on her ankle-boots." (translated by George Martin)
