2 years ago I took photos that would change my life. I got nude in front of a camera I lacked any kind of confidence in myself, But I was desperate to change how I viewed my body. 2 years later, One of those photos has become a piece of art. My fat body has been immortalized as the very thing that drives my soul. This moment is such a full circle moment for me. To have photos of the body I once hated, used for something so beautiful is such a magical thing. I don't even have the proper words for It just feel amazing Like floating on a glittery cloud. Thank you @aesthetic.erection for this incredible piece. Thank you for seeing something in me 💜 Just thank you so much. 📸 @battle.symphony__ . . . . . #artisticnudeart #aestheticerection #fatandsexy #fatqueer #fatpositive #bodypostive #radicalselflove #mushroomart #selfconfidence #fatbodies #queer (at Toronto, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/CP1rDPBtoTx/?utm_medium=tumblr

Fat is not a bad word.
Fat is not a bad word .
Fat is not a bad word.
There isn't a problem with me being fat, there IS a problem with fatphobia. Fat people don't need diet advice, we probably don't want it either. Allow us to exist in peace.
Screw your colonial diets. Fat people don't need your unsolicited advice on our bodies. You're just fatphobic.
Tumblr Revival
Ok, so I have kinda had enough with IG lately. I feel far too overstimulated on that app and I’ve been trying to find elsewhere. One of my friends recently mentioned tumblr. YES! I remember starting this “thing” years ago ( almost 10... but let’s not do this) during my early days in uni. I wasn’t myself... truthfully I didn’t exactly know who I was. As I read through my earlier posts, it makes me sad to read how hard I was trying not to be punitive to my body... and just sort’ve “ light” with my weight gain knowing damn well that shit was hard to grapple with.
During those years, I was baby plus size and I learned real quick how horrible the world can be to bigger bodies. Not to mention, the environment that I was in felt so draining whilst trying to navigate the notion of acceptance within and around my body. I was in such a white homogenous oppressive place and I hate that I didn’t know that I could demand better and leave that environment. But I know now. And that has been my saving grace in my mid and now late twenties. Yes, I just turned 29! I have a lot to share... past outfits, travels and my plans for the future :)
Still caking and earthquaking in this big girl life.
There is a huge difference between Body Positivity and Self Love. And it's time people start to understand it. The Body Positive movement started in the 1960s as a Grassroots protest for humans who's bodies were marginalized and not accepted in work places. This included Fat humans, BIPOC humans, Queer humans, and disabled humans. The movement was rooted in social justice to make room for bodies that were deemed "abnormal" by society at that time. Self love on the other hand, It's about loving your skin. It's about accepting yourself as is, and loving it. When you body is already seen as "normal", you are practicing self love, NOT body positivity. If you are slim, fully abled, and/or athletic, society is already jealous because you are the "Golde Rule" meaning beauty is already held to your standard. I'm not saying one is better than the other. Never. Everyone needs self love. Everyone needs to accept their bodies as is. We just need to learn to call it what it is. We, as a society, need to realize when you take over a movement, like the Body Positive Movement, it takes the attention away for the real causes, the real people who need that change. Self love is for everyone. Body Positivity is for the marginalized bodies. Just sometime to remember next time you use a hashtag 😊💜 . . . . . . . .
