Freezing temps arrived and it spurred my ass to winterize the outdoor faucets and bring in the garden hoses. Taking care of things like hoses saves so much money and waste. And we had a basement pipe burst one winter, back East when I was growing up, and the bulk of the flooding was the basement play room. Throwing out soaked and destroyed toys left an impression on me. Faucet covers have a loop you hook onto the spigot and then a toggle tightens the whole thing. I bought a new cover for one faucet because it had been swaddled with an old tie-dye t-shirt and twine, which I recognized as belonging to the ex of a former housemate.
