PRZEWALSKI’S HORSE (Equus ferus)
When Prezewalski’s horses come to mind, I think of a very ancient pony, one found depicted before paper was a thing and one that was very much a part of us humans past that we almost owe it to them. I wanted to capture a part of this, I wanted to capture the past, the present and the future of the horse, as while it is needing some help to stop it disappearing altogether, the Prezewalski’s horses story, hasn’t ended yet. This piece as always I wanted it to fit in with the Fauna Focus pieces that I had created for other free for all’s. I do think that this one has a lot less ethereal feel about it (whether I decide to keep it that way in the future is another story). I wanted to push myself to tackle picture over picture and fade effects, I still think this needs some experiment on my behalf, but I am happy with the place I got it to for this piece. I did also once again play with negative space for framing of the subject, this was the one thing that I had clear in my mind when I started this. I am as always very honored to participate in these free for all’s! I was very happy to be able to find the time to finish this on time and get this written up!

"Painted Stripes"
Super late painting for last month's #faunafocus challenge.
My entry for this months fauna focus featuring the lovely Spotted Hyena!
For day 56 of 2019, I made a sketch/drawing of a pine marten, this month's Fauna Focus.
I haven't posted to Instagram in a while; let's change that! This is a pine marten character that I designed, inspired by pine needles. He's available for purchase on my Shop! #FaunaFocus #PineMarten #PineMartens #Marten #Martens #DigitalArt #originalcharacter #characterdesign #characterforsale #artforsale https://www.instagram.com/p/BuLcBK1lQCX/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1srisfwky7ezw

Independent subadults are tolerated within the range of adult animals, but these may represent offspring that did not disperse in their first fall.
