Guard dog Wade
He latches onto Peter after deciding to get out of the merc for hire business because he needs some authority figure to fill the void
Because being alone feels too exposed
He follows Spider-Man everywhere, on every patrol or mission or errand, he jumps in the way of bullets and takes punches, but never kills
That’s the rule he’s been given
Metaphorically speaking, Spider-Man keeps him on a loose leash, letting him do pretty much whatever he wants — but there is absolutely no murder
Deadpool sometimes gets carried away and his detainment of opponents reaches borderline torture
Deadpool standing over a man in a mask, katana pressed to his neck, demanding to know who his boss is, what they want etc etc
He presses the blade down and blood beads where it breaks skin and the man babbles pleas for mercy
Spider-Man stands and watches. He knows Deadpool won’t kill. He knows because he told him not to and Deadpool always does what he’s told
Eventually, Spidey steps in and a firm “Wade.” is all that’s needed for Deadpool to back off and take his place beside him, almost shoulder to shoulder
Spider-Man plays good cop, getting the info and letting the man keep his life, webbing him up before they move on
Deadpool is still Spider-Man’s mutt even when the costumes are off
Wade loiters around Peter’s apartment, getting antsy while Peter does chores, and comes up behind him, draping himself over Peter’s back, arms around his waist, not stopping him from getting on with what he’s doing but getting in the way none the less
Wade cooks for Peter when he’s too tired, or even gets up early to make breakfast, watching as Peter eats, glad that he’s getting time to eat when he doesn’t have time to cook
Wade comes with Peter to work and says goodbye on the street every morning, then anxiously waits for the appearance of Spider-Man in the evening so he can follow him around again
Wade is Peter’s and Deadpool is Spider-Man’s and Spider-Man doesn’t know how much power he really has
