the synopsis for today's life lesson: "You are a snowflake, get used to it." Even if you have a relatively normal upbringing, the angle of your core pillars are off kilter to those in your tribe somehow: From what matters to why it matters, this affects everything. But I think if I look back on my favourite uncle, who was the peacekeeper in any group he was in; he used to referee disputes in large groups of adults like he was Moses. He did it so seamlessly too bc he had this happy-go-lucky demeanour, he was soft spoken & gentle, and he was also the eldest person in the group by a minimum of 12 years. So when I think of respecting your elder, I think it means you must have some of these mad skills in your toolbox—bc look around: What do you see but protests/disruptions/war???
I started the morning with some good old Bloomberg & AOG, I enjoyed both bc neither had to re-enact the recent months of Rabble demands & subsequent outbursts to paint the picture of a tense past. The spotlight was on France's inability to agree on a way forward, when so much debt has accrued—as they encroach on the big shock, which is the same in many parts of the world. I like how they compared it against Germany's economy since both were performing around the same level before the pandemic.
And as I've seen repeatedly, they are placing the issue squarely on the shoulders of a shrinking population which cannot support the growing base of older ppl. You may detect pushback against this, since each person contributes to their retirement pension: Why can't they reason how investing pensions in the open markets has wiped out the funds it has collected??? Why can't they admit they have gambled & loss the pot? In Canada I remember hearing how the gov't quietly siphoned employment insurance funds to top up social security shortfalls, which is illegal.. they got away with it bc like other democracies, they behave like the Joker too, where they assume they are above the law and: "The only way to live is to act like there are no rules.."
It is no wonder so many Boomers are trying to push the younger generation to get busy & have babies, despite the fact the population is shrinking precisely bc the average Joe cannot afford all the things required to raise a family. OK I'm clearly not my uncle by a long shot, but I'm still half his age so I've still got time to catch up.
And unlike him, I believe no one is actually capable of bringing about true peace, other than GOD. I just pray some of you will see how much you need JESUS, what we are seeing is only just the beginning of the end.
Others keep talking about AI like it is going to save them, the same way they talked about robots changing the world, or how the personal computer & the internet were going to fix the world by shrinking it so it's easier to spot check areas to improve. But some pragmatists accept there is a huge lag, whereas some analysts actually accept the exuberance for hope blinds each era to the deficiency in achieving such lofty goals.
I chalk it up to "GOD not giving HIS glory to another."
The goal being, the more unfair the system is, the more impossible it is for ppl to ignore their need for a just & good GOD; so don't expect any one person to understand or be able to fix you—except JESUS, WHO is the Wonderful Counsellor & Prince of Peace.
P.S. I too have been feeling my yang, the last several months, it is absolutely exhausting as your heart feels like a strip has been torn out of it & somehow it manages to beat uncontrollably in an attempt to heal itself. I agree with the insomnia & what Heath was saying in this video! He was such a cool guy..I am glad he was given the chance to put this sensitive side on full display before he passed on.
In Chinese creation theory, the universe develops out of a primary chaos of primordial qi or material energy, organized into the cycles of yin and yang, force and motion leading to form and matter. "Yin" is retractive, passive, contractive & receptive in nature in a contrasting relationship to "yang" that is repelling, active, expansive & repulsive in principle; this dichotomy in some form, is seen in all things in nature and their patterns of change, difference and transformations. For example, biological, psychological and cosmological seasonal cycles, the historical evolution of landscapes over days, weeks, years to eons. The original meaning of yin was depicted as the northerly shaded side of a hill and yang being the bright southerly aspect. When pertaining to human gender, yin is associated to more rounded feminine characteristics and yang as sharp and masculine traits.
