Your Favorite Actor/Actress

I've seen this a time ago here on Tumblr but never had the time... my plan is to make this more than once because I have a lot of actresses and actors I love. I'm starting with my muse. The one and only:

Glenn Close

When did you first see them in a movie/tv show?

It must be "101 Dalmatians" as a child but I haven't recognised her personally. The moment I thought "Okay, Glenn Close. I NEED to see everything she's ever made." was in "The House of the Spirits". She has a rather small role but her performance is extraordinary.

Were you already a fan of them or not?

No. I was a fan of Meryl Streep then and watched "The House of the Spirits" because of her. But I have no memory of her in that film because of Glenn.

What did you originally like about them?

I don't know exactly. She was just SO good.

What made you an actual fan of theirs?

After that movie I started watching everything with her and she never disappointed me. Of course there were movies which I didn't like or didn't understand but she as an actress was always good.

When I found out that she is a great singer too my mind was blown away ;-)

How many years have you been a fan of theirs?

Uhm... 13 years counting.

What is your reaction when you hear they're going to be in a new movie/tv show?

I'm always interested and every time I hope it will bring her her Oscar win. I know... it's not everything about the Oscars blahblahblah but... yes... she deserves it so much!

If they've been acting for awhile or they've acted awhile, what is your favorite era/time period of their acting career?

Mh. It's a bit of everything. Maybe between 2000 and 2010. Or the 80s by looking at my favourite works ;-)

Those too are my all-time favourites.

Any genre/plot you wish they'd act in?

I would love to see her in that Sunset Boulevard movie of which we talk since... since the 90s I think.

Any character type you wish they'd be?

I think she did a lot of different types. Can't think about one in particular.

Your favorite thing about them outside of their characters (from what you can tell or what your gut tells you when you see them as themselves or their 'public' selves)?

She is extremely supporting in all the good things as women's rights and she is a HUGE supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. She is also the founder of Bring Change to Mind. They will end the stigma of mental illnesses.

And I've seen her on stage two times. I've met her in New York at the stage door and she was sooooo overwhelming beautiful and kind. The second time was "Sunset Boulevard" in London and sometimes I see every second of this evening in my head. It was awesome!

Your favorite thing about their acting.

Mh. I don't think I can say for sure what it is in particular.

Are you in their fandom(s)?

Not really. I used to have a message board many years ago but it's gone. (That sounds very sad... but it is okay ;-) )

Was looking into the BBC page and found this:in 2004 North and South's Margaret (Daniela Denby Ashe) got chosen first as a favourite actress. And her 'mother in law' Sinead Cusak got 3rd place (source  http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/bestof2004/best_actress.shtml )

And in the Favourite Moment cathegory, North and South got 3 out 5 places in the Top 5:

Katey Sagal

I always loved her as Peggy on "Married With Children" and as Cate Hennessy on "8 Simple Rules" and was very happy to find her among the cast of "Sons Of Anarchy". She's got a natural authority and a great comic timing and she utilises both to perfection as Gemma. No, SoA is not a particularly funny show, but as with all great tragedies, they wouldn't work without some moments of levity and she plays hers to perfection, while also demonstrating what a great straight actress she is.
