Um hey, I just wanted to note since you said you thought CAXAB was intersex only on a recent post; I've seen a few people saying that CAXAB is available for trans people to use (I've seen people saying it was originally created by a trans woman, but I haven't ever confirmed that.) The one that I know for sure is only meant for intersex people is IAXAB (intersex assigned X at birth) and I believe FAXAB (forcibly assigned X at birth) is also intersex specific.

Is there a difference between faxab and maxab, or are they interchangeable?

I think faxab is for all intersex people and maxab is for intersex people who have had genital surgery performed on them when they were an infant.can any of our intersex followers correct me if I’m wrong or add information?please?-Mod Virgil

“assigned” and “designated” are two different words for basically the same idea so it doesn’t really matter

When we get into caxab (coercively assigned) or faxab (forcibly assigned) that might be a different matter, I might have seen someone say it applies to intersex people? Someone shut this down quick if that’s not true.

Edit: I just read the previous ask about this, and apparently that only the case for faxab! So yes, it is interchangeable.

  I understand your confusion, but sex (that's what assignment is about not gender) is not generally something one must consent to. However, in most countries, assignments follow the assumption of a sex binary. For any dyadic person, there assignment will be correct, even if it does not reflect their gender. For an intersex person, this assignment is either simply incorrect (IAXAB) or, in the case of forced "normalization", it is both incorrect and forced (FAXAB). I hope that helps. -Mod C
