Faylen headcanons NYOW 🔫

Comin' Up!

• She's lactose intolerant.

• Her favourite food is seafood carbonara.

• Despite being a pirate, she can not tolerate alcohol. She still drinks it.

• She likes to coil her tail around Zagan and Azazel's arms or legs or waist. It helps ground her and remind her they're real.

• She has an excellent singing voice, but prefers to play instruments.

• She likes to tell stories to the crew. They're always over exaggerated. She got in a fight outside a tavern? No, she fought everyone inside and came out unscathed.

• When they were little, her and Zag would put on puppet shows for his mother.

• Celeste taught her how to knit.

• She patches up the crew's clothes if they get damaged.

• When she was a slave, one of the women she was imprisoned with would sing her sea shanties to calm her. She does the same when Zagan and Azazel are nervous now.

• When she noticed Zag was missing his ducks aboard the ship, she got him a goose, thinking it was a duck. They called him Duckie.

• She knits Duckie little outfits.

• Her and this mf goose are inseparable. He follows her everywhere.

• She smokes.

• She has grey hairs. Not necessarily from age, but stress. She doesn't care, she finds them cool.

• If she was an animal, she'd be a rat.

• She can't always remember people's names or spell them correctly, so she gives everyone strange nicknames.

• When Azazel was captured, she learned how to fish, to carry on his parents' memory in his place.

and here is my spot illustration for @2dames2zine which i drew to accompany "monkey's paw" by @lolotr which is also my favorite fic in the book, if my opinion counts for anything. i tried to be as accurate to canon events as i could while also giving it a soft and cozy feel to go with the writing.

Just a lovely bunch of NPC siblings that are totally normal and who's lives are totally not being controlled by a malevolent Archfey who, after fulfilling her end of the deal made by their family member, will use them, with the power and sway on the Material Plane given to them by said deal, as terrestrial servants to do her bidding! Oh and they're related to our party's cleric 💚💚💚
