For many months after the destruction of the Mega PizzaPlex, Glamrock Freddy and Gregory had been moving around a lot. Neither of them was aware that the building had crumbled, but if they did know, only one of them would mourn the place.
Gregory was happy to see the place gone. It had been the source of a lot of pain and fear for him, but it also held many secrets that he had to bury deep underground.
Like how he managed to upgrade Glamrock Freddy and give him new claws, eyes and a voice box. He never mentioned to Freddy where he got them at all, only diverting the subject with a half-hearted 'there was an accident at the raceway.'
Glamrock Freddy knew that the night had been physically and mentally tough on the boy, so he was quick to believe his 'superstar'. In his view, he had no reason to be lying or hiding anything, so anything his superstar said, he believed.
And that's why the animatronic was happy to agree with Gregory's decision of moving around in the van they had used to leave the PizzaPlex and never stay in a consistent location. As the boy had said, it was dangerous to stay in one place, especially if they were being chased.
But after three months of driving and settling in the quietest places they could find, Freddy put his foot down and said that they needed to find somewhere permanent. Moving around wouldn't have a benefit for the boy, and neither would it for the animatronic. They found a house that had been abandoned a long time ago and settled there.
There was a lot of work that needed to be done, like obtaining food for Gregory and anything else a child would need to survive. They quickly came up with a system, with Gregory leaving every Saturday morning while Freddy completed his morning charge in the van. There was also the issue of making the place safe, and so Gregory left one day to find resources to fix the floors and cover the windows while Freddy, again, charged.
He couldn't help but notice that Gregory seemed shaken up when he came back, but he didn't say a word on it and the animatronic didn't press him further. Freddy did see, however, that Gregory became more paranoid for a while, but after two weeks, the routine continued like normal.
Gregory didn't like leaving Freddy alone for too long while he went to find resources, but the animatronic wasn't exactly something he could bring around, especially when he needed to use that time charging in the first place.
Whenever Freddy had to recharge, he always shut himself down to complete the cycle faster. Whenever he was powered on and charged, the process doubled in time, which wasn't convenient if they needed to go somewhere.
For a while, they had to put up with it, since they didn't have a fixed address. Now that they were settled, it wasn't a problem.
There was no one nearby to be suspicious about a van parked outside a lonely house, so Freddy could sit there in peace while he charged. He never locked the doors because there wasn't a need to.
If Gregory ever came back earlier than expected, he would wait in the van for him to power back on, but that didn't happen often.
Whenever Freddy charged, he took time to look through his memory logs, catching up on any information that he might have missed at any one point. He often found himself going back to the night at the PizzaPlex, noticing a new detail each time. The sudden destruction of his friends, Roxy's crying, Gregory's odd behaviour.
He never brought it up to Gregory because he knew it upset his 'superstar' to ask about the night, but he couldn't help but recognise that the way Gregory acted sometimes was incredibly suspicious. Like how he seemed to know exactly how to upgrade Freddy, and how he wasn't surprised to see the state of the other animatronics.
It was almost like Freddy didn't bring the subject up because he was afraid of trying to work out what his behaviour meant. He wanted to know, but he worried that the truth was better left hidden.
Yet if there was anyone who understood the situation, Freddy would welcome the explanation with open arms. He had been left in the dark for too long. He wanted to know what Gregory was hiding, even if he was afraid of the answer.
