2023.02.03 - (FB) Profile Update Fridays: These were taken using a remote shutter last night as I sat watching Ingmar Bergman’s ‘The Passion of Anna’ (1969). Long exposures because the only light was coming from the screen (purposely moving my head in the bottom rows to see the effect). This is not to say I didn’t enjoy the movie. I set these up during the part where Elis (Erland Josephson) was taking portraits of Andreas (Max von Sydow) and… well, you know, you can’t show me a camera without me getting the itch to take my own pictures (I rewound the movie so I wouldn’t miss anything). As with any Bergman movie, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it but, also, was left wondering ‘what the hell was that about?’ knowing that I’d be working it out in my head for the next couple of days. In fact, I spent coffee time this morning writing out the whole movie in my notebook. Wikipedia quotes Vincent Canby as writing "it does seem designed more for the indefatigable Bergman cryptologists (of which I am not one) than for interested, but uncommitted filmgoers." Have to agree. #profileupdatefriday #fbprofileupdate #bergmanmovies #thepassionofanna #watchingmovies and #takingselfies #blackandwhite #longexposures https://www.instagram.com/p/CoNNCseup9f/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
