idk if ur defending incest (which ppl seem to conveniently forget is abuse and literally one of the factors that contributed to house targaryen’s downfall) but i’ll say it again: writing akotsk incest fics, especially for characters who were never canonically involved in that (*cough* baelor or maekar) is weird asf. it’s one thing to write about it to show how catastrophic and unhealthy it is, it’s another to romanticize it.
in their generation, there were only a few cases. their brother Aerys who married a cousin, which was normal for nobles back then. there’s also the nephew/niece (Rhaegel children) case after Daeron II and Baelor died. I mean even Aerion married a young cousin, and not one of his sisters!
i could write a whole essay on how incest contributed to the targaryen downfall. it’s not supposed to be lovey-dovey or smutty — it’s shown as harmful and destructive, not romanticized
my point is : this isn’t hotd…. but to each their own, i guess…
