"hey budd--" it's how he always referred to jacob more often than not so the friendly greeting naturally tried to slip through his lips. he put a stop to it, probably way too late but he was trying. this was... a first -- having a kid that didn't remember him and he was going to be completely honest and admit he didn't have a clue how to handle it. what was the right thing here? what the fuck was he supposed to do about any of this? “let them. who cares what they think? your a smart kid, jacob. a good one too.” things had been off for a little back home but everyone had been under immense pressure with the trial and everything that had come after it. it had been a mess... one he thought they’d been finally getting out from under until -- well, he didn’t even want to think about what had happened in that car. “what’s brought this on?” andy knew he sounded like a typical dad and he was trying to cut it out but -- he didn’t know how. he didn’t.
