As a belated tribute for FE Fate's anniversary, I'm redrawing some of the old comics from 2016! If you haven't seen these I hope you enjoy them!

Thoughts behind the piece:

The title refers to both the hand that Byleth is offering here but the hand in the comic is actually Byleth answering to Edelgard's call to join her fight. In this instance, the hand is a community but it's also Byleth accepting Edelgard's call to fight.

Edelgard is down on her knees crushed under the state of the world and what it's doing to us all. Byleth is telling her she's not alone. She sees her, agrees with her, and is ready to fight with her.

I am aware Edelgard is an empress and this is an anarchist call. I very purposely put her emperor self on the "no masters" panel. It is a call to action, but also a call for her to better stand up to her words (which she canonically does so...)

I have a very normal number of thoughts and feelings about this. The current state of the world is very much not alright and I feel so crushed under the weight of it all.

A comic I drew when Hegemon Edelgard came out in fire emblem heroes. Her voice line “Facing you, I grow weak” hits a bit different in the mobile game compared to the switch one - if you listen to the final lines, she kind of shakes her voice at the very end like she’s gonna cry qq. I love Byleth x Edelgard.  I need that cafe au .w.

One day, Luxia would put up her hair, intending to mimic ishtar's old protraits as she thought her mom was pretty and intended impress Ishtar for doing it herself without any help from the maids.

However, Ishtar  would be reminded of a lost family member, as Luxia looked like the spitting image of her. This would make Ishtar begin to tear up and cry unknowningly at first.

Never once seeing her mom cry before, as she had seen Ishtar as the strongest woman she had ever known and knowing her mother's reputation for a temper and being so stern, she would try to comfort her and apologize for the innocent act. This event seems to have troubled her a great deal, though, as she refused to ever put up her hair again outside braids like Ishtar suggested even into young adulthood. Secretly, Ishtar would be hurt by her daughters choice to never use a traditional hairstyle to Friege of a ponytail, but never would bring it up or comment on it, leaving the misunderstanding as it was.

 However, when Ishtar realized the mistake it was to not be open about why she had cried. This misunderstanding would never quite be cleared up, as silly as it was, as a storm was brewing that would destroy the peace Grannvale had been holding onto since Seliph had taken the throne as King.
