Xander with pet snakes headcanons

- Katerina gave him his first snake on his fourth birthday, a king snake.

- No one knows why she decided that a snake would be a good birthday present, but Xander l o v e d it from the first second he set his eyes on it, so everyone else just rolled with it

- He named the snake "Aska", after his favourite character from the children's books Katerina and Garon read him 

- When Katerina died Xander clinged to the snake even more, since it was one of the few things he had left from her. He started taking the snake with him wherever he went. 

- Aska became Xander's best friend when the concubine wars started. He couldn't trust any of the other children in the castle, and he barely got any attention from Garon anymore, so he clinged to the snake instead. When he grew up the snake was one of the few safe parts of his life, something he could always trust. 

- When Aska died Xander was heartbroken for weeks

- Roxana, a royal ball python, was the second snake he got. He bought her when he came across a merchant selling snakes, a few years after Corrin came to the castle.

- Amaria, a rosy boa, was a birthday gift from his siblings, a few years prior to the game's events. Corrin was also included in that birthday present. 

- The snakes are rahter clingy.

- The snakes also loves Leo, and will sometimes curl around him when he's reading. Leo loves them too and will pet them while he's reading. 

- Camilla loves Amaria, but never calls her by name. Instead she shifts between "little noodle", "shoelace", "rat tail", and similair ridiculous names.  - Elise loves both snakes, and attempts to wrap Roxana around her shoulders a lot, even if the poor snake is too big for her. 

- Amaria loves to curl up in Xander's chest pocket and sleep there. She also likes wrapping herself around Xander's hands when he's writing. - Roxana prefers to curl around Xander's shoulders, his leg or just curl up in his lap, since it makes it easier for him to pet her that way. - Roxana also enjoys exploring the castle and has scared a lot of servants when they find her in unusal places. - The servants jokingly refer to them as "Lady Roxana" and "Lady Amaria". - Amaria has more than once curled around Xander’s neck like a necklace, and Xander has more than once forgotten she was there and gone to important meetings with her still around his neck.
