vote timerra cause ik y’all love to see a queen win
a little portrait for timerra's bday! pose and lighting somewhat referenced from viktor bobrov's "esther".
Princess Timerra of Solm
Timerra's cunning streak with the other royals
Timerra openly admits that she was scoping out Ivy for weaknesses in their supports which got me thinking if she pulls similar behavior with the princes and I noticed a specific pattern with her
Fogado tells Céline that Firene appears standoffish and isolated, so we can assume Timerra has a similar perspective
When Timerra's talking to Alfred, she's somewhat testing how social he is. She invites herself into his activities before offering him the chance to participate in hers. She's gauging the effort he's willing to put in their friendship to see how much effort he'll put into their alliance later
While Diamant is the one to initiate the conversation with her, she immediately uses the opportunity to size up what kind of person he is. She subtly, then not so subtly, pushes him to interact with regular civilians and she's there to see how he treats them. Based on how he treats ordinary folk, she can determine if he'll be another warmonger like the previous kings of Brodia
This is also something she does in her Alear support. Not telling them about the bandit raid seems odd at first, but when you watch it again under the lens of "Timerra is gauging the other leaders," it makes sense that she's also testing Alear. The fate of this war hinges on Alear's abilities. Timerra needs to know how they manage under pressure and the surprise bandit attack will show if they have the skill and mental strength to handle sudden issues
I think it's telling that all of these supports have the characters doing something on Timerra's terms before she'll do what they're used to. She essentially puts them all in a situation where she has the advantage before she will willingly lower herself to be on even footing with them. The only exception is Alfred, but there's still the caveat that he immediately reciprocate with something that benefits her
Timerra has a consistent pattern with the other royals. Not only is she looking for weaknesses, she's mainly testing to see whether or not she can trust their judgement as fellow leaders. During and after the war, Elyos will be depending on them for leadership and she needs to know who they are in the ways that count
