GET UR WORK DONE
chEMISTRY IS SO ANNOYING I DONT UNDERSTAND ANYTHIGN
I think Liam's need to "fit in" has always ruled over his actual judgement of people. you know what I mean? like his friends are purely awful, I mean we don't know them personally and in Liam's defense they might be a lot of fun to be around, but they don't care about his safety. and they're probably "cool" in Liam's eyes, and even though he's already a great person and really successful, he wants to fit in with /them/ - which means climbing onto a ledge, drunk, thousands of feet in the air :(
My mom used to say - when talking about my friends in high school - that there were two types of people -- Leaders and Followers. But there were degrees to it - that there could be Leaders that led without anyone knowing, and Followers who appeared to be leaders. I feel like Liam falls into the second category.
He is wildly popular, people around the world adore him, and he comes across as confident and cocksure. But that is not who he was for so long. He was the boy that no one came to his birthday party. He was the boy who wanted something so bad, that he made it his entire focus. He was the boy who learned to fight because he was always bullied. He was the boy who didn't fit in.
Now, because he's Liam Payne of One Direction, everybody wants to be his friend. He's attracted this group of sycophant famewhores that know how to be the perfect hangers-on. They make him think he's the leader, that they all adore him, but I don't doubt that Liam can almost feel the underlying sense that one mis-step, and they will all be gone.
And deep inside, Liam is still that insecure boy that didn't fit in, and he feels this compulsion to do this wild ass shit to keep them amused, to make himself seem interesting, so they won't desert him if they find out the truth.
The sad thing is - it all boils down to Liam having no confidence in he, himself, being interesting enough for people to want to be around. And he is. He really really is . . .
you're a really good mother layne
