Feeble
,,After cleansing with the threat of the whip the Temple of Jerusalem—rebuilt shortly before by Herod the Great and which those greedy for money, lacking faith in God, had transformed from the "House of God into a house of trade and a den of thieves" (Matthew 21:12-13)—Christ, riding upon the foal of an ass, advances humbly yet triumphantly through the middle of the City.
The crowd, enthusiastic about His miracles and sermons, welcomed Him with "Hosanna!" and spread palm branches at His passing (Matthew 21:15). They felt Him to be the Messiah, the King, the Liberator. Many of these, however, unfortunately pushed by the high priests, scribes, and Pharisees, would cry out: "Crucify Him, crucify Him!", a common change among those who are immature, opportunistic, and fearful.
This thing is continuously repeated in history. Masses betray their leaders. They do not have deep, authentic, formed convictions, and act according to cunning demagogues who subdue and exploit them. Therefore, the true culture of peoples is the highest good requested by God. After Christ entered Jerusalem with His disciples, the countdown to His Dreadful Passions immediately began. Therefore, He left to His disciples the Mystery of the Divine Eucharist, of Divine Communion, so that through Him all of them might prosper, as well as all believers of all ages, namely the Church on earth and in heaven, in the Eternal Kingdom.
