fuck, i just found out that one of our clients killed himself today 😢 he chose to die rather than suffer being on the streets again. & while going thru & updating active cases, a man i knew when i was like 18-19 is one of our clients & his file lowkey broke my heart. tough ass week.

#this has been a hectic ass week and i had to get my white Jewish boss together in a private meeting for microaggressing #with my white skinned Latina supervisor who micromanages me and passes off her work to me. while not letting our boss know it was me #who completed the projects or corrected her errors #while maintaining the front office which includes dealing with clients while #their case managers are out #feeding them #getting them hygiene care #letting them complain or talk to me #and troubleshooting their problems with what little power and access i have #bc im not a case manager i cant go and get their IDs or help them get necessary prescriptions #it’s tough work but my labor as a Black women is criticized more than its praised or noticed #and the Black women and one Latina case manager who had my position before #let me know that the admins can be misogynoiristic and rude/entitled #but yeah yesterday i had to help a client who took off her pants in public and started peeing on the floor 🤦🏽‍♀️#i wasn’t mad or nothing bc i know her issues but the way my coworkers acted so scared of this old Black lady?#like pls grow up you working in the hood act like you know

Y'know today at work I was with a bunch of elementary/middle school kids and one asks us our dream job.

One said he wanted to be in NASA

another said he wanted something easy, but lucrative (like a car salesman or something)

I said. I wanted to breed jellyfish at an aquarium.

And everyone in the room stared at me.

Now, I'm used to being judged by little kids but this was just. A whole new level of "welp. there goes anyone's respect for me"

While I’m setting up some stuff over the course of this summer, and getting something more substantial that would feel worthy of starting a proper Patreon, I figured for the short term, I would go ahead and create one of those ‘ko-fi’ accounts. Figured it wouldn’t hurt.
