I did a thing!!! I posted the first chapter of Travel Logs & Unsent Letters, a companion piece to Teardrops & Teacups. I'm rather nervous about it for some reason! He knew this all too well, there was no way to automatically convince a Winchester that they weren't at fault. Instead of wasting his breath on words that would fall on deaf ears, Castiel pulled Sam in close. He stood on his toes and hugged the other as tightly as he could. His fingers dug in to the strong flanks of Sam's shoulders. "It's not your fault." He whispered against the shell of his ear. "And even if it was, you mean no less to me."

Sam needed this. He didn't know he needed it until those arms wrapped around his shoulders and Sam returned it immediately, snagging around his waist. 

"Cas--" 

The whisper against his ear was like a command. To stop blaming himself and part of him let it go. Deep down though it would always be a guilt. 

His head rested into the ex-angels shoulder and he didn't speak at first. He wanted to, he wanted to say how badly it hurt seeing what he had become. 

Then.....And even if it was, you mean no less to me.

His grip tightened. He didn't even know where his own brother was, so this was what he had right now and it was what he needed. "You don't hate me?" He tried his hardest not to break. "You don't hate what I became....what led to my mistake...."
