The way Nancy’s guilt complex would fuel her comphet would be so fucking good.
Nancy has a homoerotic relationship with her best friend and then her best friend dies “because” of Nancy.
Nancy thinks a woman is hot and cool and then immediately has to watch as said woman bleeds out right infront of her.
Nancy gets close to a girl for the first time since Barb died, and it’s coincidentally the first time with all the Upside Down bullshit that they know they’ve really lost. Nancy was in charge back in Hawkins, she was leading the charge against Vecna, she failed to kill him and Max got hurt because of it. And Nancy blames herself, she’d blame herself for letting herself get distracted by her “friendship” with Robin.
Nancy realizing she actually starts to catch feelings for Robin at some point but feeing like she has to really repress and push that shit down because every time she feels this way about a girl the universe finds a new way to divinely punish her for it.
So Nancy stays in an awful unfulfilling relationship where she’s miserable because it’s what she thinks she deserves it for all the hurt she’s caused (or believes she’s caused). If she just keeps ignoring how she really feels everything will be fine.
But it’s not, her avoidance almost gets her killed, multiple times, and she has to finally face the fact that her avoidance isn’t actually helping her, it’s actually turning her into her parents, into what she’s feared for so long.
Finally in Boston, far far away from Hawkins, she no longer has to shoulder the guilt she’s been carrying for so long. She can finally begin to unpack and accept herself. (Maybe with the help of her best friend/girlfriend in Massachusetts *wink wink*)
