Eee, your art is so beautiful! If you’re still drawing elves, I’d really like to see Finrod in your style!
Hello! <3 I'm so happy to hear that! And yes, I am still on the elf(LOTR in general) grind. And here's Finrod for you!
I remember seeing another piece of fanart of him in this cloak thing and I just had to draw him in the same, I love cloaks and especially fluffy ones. I might've gone for better colors ngl, but I hope you like it!
Let me know who else you'd like to see me draw :)
P.s. I also have commissions open! Carrd link
Gave him hair to match Galadriel too because hell yea <3 They got nice curls
The Journey of Felagund Ingoldo Findarato
For @arafinwean-week, day two, Finrod.
The first encapsulates Finrod's journey. It moves from the left down, then up to the top right down. On the left: Valinor, the mountains, the beaches of Alqualonde, and the beginning of the Helcaraxe on the left. The Halcaraxe continues to the right side, and on the right there is also Beleriand, Dorthonion on fire or Angband, and the rivers parting closer to the center imply Tol Sirion. Then there are bits of fire, and blood.
The center - the gold. Finrod's hair, his personality, shining and bright. Half a circlet on the right side of his head, the front side, facing forward, looking out east. Showing his ambition, his kingship in the East.
The Helcaraxe, lands of Beleriand, Sauron's fire and dungeon, then streaks of blood like claw marks are all entwined into his hair, showing that though he leaves back West, those lands and pain are entwined with him, and who he is.
(And small fun detail, rose gold in the gold that is him towards the right and bottom. Bloodstains, or foreshadowing the blood that comes.)
Then the next three pieces;
Green is Felagund, with much gold and blue weaving in and out. I put green and Felagund together due to Finrod's own green heraldry, and the name he was gifted for who he is.
Blue is Ingoldo. The colors and name of his father, and the past. The face he shows, the colors he bears, who he shows to others.
Gold is Findarato. Both, gold and the name, are his appearance. How others see him. Bits of green, who he is, and more blue, who he presents himself as.
Materials: 10in x 8in canvas, PVA glue, assorted glitter, little hot glue on the journey piece.
