Soooo, just a fun little ESBI question, who is your bias (I think I already know this one hehe) and who would you say you’re most similar to? 😊
my bias is Ken! Bisaya represent 🫡
but no, seriously, when I first listened to SB19, it was Justin’s bright voice that caught my attention first. He also looks really cute, so I checked out his solo songs to know more about him… only to find that his solos are not really my jam. It’s not that they’re bad. I just think his ballads are too soft for my taste, and I’m a pop ballad enjoyer. I also think his voice sounds more powerful when he’s harmonizing with the other SB19 members, so I just stuck to listening to their group songs.
But as I was paying attention to more of their songs, I noticed some Bisaya lines from Ken, and that got me curious. His extremely deep voice was also captivating. I checked out his solo songs to see if he had any Bisaya ones, and I was not disappointed. Ever since the issues with VisPop in 2019, I haven’t heard any Bisaya bangers in a while. Ken using our language to national, and even international, stages makes my heart feel so full.
I wasn’t really fond of most of the genres Ken likes, but over time they grew on me. Ken is also a very versatile artist, and he sounds good in almost any genre. His collaborations with other Bisaya artists have also led me to discover more amazing singers in our language, and I really appreciate that.
