Rings and Cuffs!!

In the photo above: Hammered rings handcrafted from brass or copper. Simple, dark, and beautifully textured. These did really well last time I made them, so I wanted to bring them back this time around. Available in the upcoming shop update in a variety of sizes.

In the bottom photo: Cuffs hand forged from brass and copper. Etched with real ‘christmas’ ferns (aka Polystichum acrostichoides) that were respectfully and ethically harvested by me. These will also be available in my next shop update.

Here is what I’ve been working on as of late. Copper and brass etched with antique lace and sprigs of cedar. I chose antique lace for this season’s design because I feel as though it mimics snowflakes quite beautifully. Intricate, unique, and delicate. Soon to become beautiful jewelry. Stay tuned for some previews!

Journal Entry from the Crow’s Nest

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all enjoying your Friday. I know I am. It’s a cool, rainy day here in CT and I am snugged on my bed working on homework and listening to tunes, but I’ve been thinking about y’all so I decided to post this journal entry.

I am currently trying to distance myself from my main platform which is Instagram. Just hoping that the algorithm resets itself mostly, but also am waist deep in school work right now and avoiding distractions (obviously it’s working). I think I have about 4 weeks left until the end of the semester and I really want to do well in my classes. This semester is extra important as I am anticipating an associates degree pending the successful completion of the semester. Obvi, I’m wicked excited. This point in time has seemed so far away and now that I’m here I’m like some strange combination of stressed out, anxious and elated haha. I’m definitely not done with school yet though. I’m going to be transferring to a four-year school in the fall and working on my bachelor’s in anthropology. The associates degree, for me, is more like a save point in a video-game almost. Actually there are perks to transferring with a degree/62 credits. I get certain things waived, so classes I won’t have to take or retake etc. Whatever, boring! Sorry! What I really wanted to talk about in this journal entry is where I am with jewelry and femmcrow stuff. I have like 50+ individual pieces of copper and brass upstairs in my studio that have been sawed out, etched, patina’d, and sealed and are all just awaiting adornment and assembly. They all look really cool so far. Ferns and texture has sort of become the theme of this collection. I have the next four-ish days off from school so I will be splitting my time between school work and assembly. I also hope to be able to get out of the house for some photos at some point. It’s damp out there now, but the next few days should just be cloudy which is perfect. I have been aiming for a shop update either on the 21st or the 28th, but definitely before this month’s end so keep a look out for an official announcement!

The other thing that I wanted to talk about is that I just started working on my Patreon which is super exciting! I’ve been wanting one or at least have been curious about what it might be like to have one, so I finally took the plunge I suppose. We’ll see how it goes. I’ve honestly been more worried that I don’t really have the following for this sort of thing, but I do want to try it. Worse case is I close it down. I still have some things I’d like to tweak on it before I publish it, but I will certainly let everyone know when it’s public and I hope that some of you take advantage of my little offers.
