i can’t answer questions like this because, you know, as a romance novel, the relationships are kind of the point, you know? all i can say is i have a track record for writing a variety of types of relationships, particularly queer ones, so really anything could happen. 🤷‍♀️

Do you think the Man in Glass might refer to Peter? With Glass being one of his aliases and this theme of his many layers, it seems like an awfully big coincidence

I think it absolutely does.

Not just the fact that he was Rex Glass, but the fact that he’s cracking. 

I remember my brother told me once that glass is really remarkable in how very strong it is– until it gets a single crack in it, and then every little bit of pressure will just make that crack grow and spread until it shatters into nothing. Juno inflicted that fatal first crack in Peter, and every tiny setback and miscalculation is hitting him harder and harder.

But I also think that it refers to something else. The Penumbra Podcast titles have a fantastic habit of referring to multiple things. I think we’ve heard mention of the other Man in Glass, but I’m not 100% sure who/what it is yet.

I'm working on that SQQ meets NHS fic and I have completely fallen down the rabbit hole that is the history of Asian hand fans. We can actually assume just from Shen Qingqiu's usual style of fan that PIDW takes place in the fantasy equivalent of the Yuan or Ming dynasties, between 1300 AD and 1650 AD. Now I'm trying to figure out what criteria separates different genders of fans and having not much luck, haha.

Ohh that does sound like a fascinating Research Rabbithole! I hope you do find the information you need!

(And while I haven’t read Scum Villain yet, I know the basic premise, and WOW that sounds like an interesting fic!)

there’s nothing wrong with enjoying garbage media (it’d be the height of hypocrisy for me to claim otherwise) but trying to enforce the mental gymnastics you use to pretend it’s not garbage on others is inconsiderate and awful.
