Three-amp-Thursday throwback. . Top: 1964 transitional #Fender 5F1 #Champ on top. This is the #TweedChamp from the late 50s we all know and love but was covered in black tolex for the 1964 model year only, no doubt to harmonize the look of the amp with the other black tolex amps in Fender's lineup, until the new front-mounted controls model could be launched. . Middle: a replica of a 1950s narrow panel Tweed Fender 5E5 Pro, on loan from @tomgibson3783. For those not familiar with the narrow panel #FenderPro, this monster puts out about 40 watts into a mammoth 15" speaker so it sounds 1) massive, and 2) loud af! 😳 . Bottom: my newest and, at the moment, favourite-est amp, the 1968 drip edge Fender #ProReverb. This #amp has really solidified my love of 2x12s. Up until now I always preferred 2x10s, feeling that they were tighter on the bass side, especially at the low volumes I was forced to play at. But since I have been able to crank my #amps a bit more, I have realized that 2x12s really sound huge at moderate to high volumes, especially with thin sounding Fender single coils! 😂 . Speaking of thin sounding Fender single coils: the #guitar is my 1968 #Telecaster. .
