Zhyan had brought a wet-suit for this, he had always enjoyed traditions surrounding new years, though this was not his. He had been coaxed along, promised to go, to strangers, yes, but that didn’t matter. It got him out of the house, away from loneliness. 

He was cold, immensely cold, watching the cold waters in front of him, the tree line behind him. He looked with great longing at the freezing depths, but also with great fear. He remembered the dream he had, of the hooded figure on his boat. He took a step closer to the water, and threw a hand through his thick hair. Then someone pushed past him, a pale while form disappeared among the still water. Naked.

LOCATION: Fenrir Police Station TIMESTAMP: 29th of December @rclused

Bodhi too had caught up on the areas that had become off-limits for locals and tourists. One of those had been the Duck Pond, a place that he'd began to visit regularly for the fact that the five who were sleeping had all been found there. He felt it had significance with the disappearances. Of course, he couldn't be sure, but it felt... Supernatural.

Not that it changed much about his daily plan, he was still payed to find the students, he was still attempting just that, walking into the Police station with a smile on his lips, saying hi to everyone because he knew them so well already.

He'd learnt to befriend the people of a city whenever he was there for a job. Even if he didn't manage to complete it, it was still good to be able to come back and be welcomed, instead of being frowned upon for having been a nuisance.

He sat down in the waiting area, being careful with his long wool coat and waited for his appointment. He had several questions about the Duck Pond and Brann's Peak. "Ah, detective Kaneko, thank you for seeing me on such short notice," he said, smiling, when the local detective appeared. "I brought you some coffee." He held out one of the cups on the carton.

Location: The Little Duck With: @evanoraray

With the re-opening of the pub and the brief turnaround they had before the holidays hit, it was all hands on deck for The Little Duck and all of the staff members were scheduled to be working at some point and Chae was currently running on twelve consecutive hours of work, busy running from one place to the next and dealing with small incidents as they arose. Table seven got the wrong drink, the man at the bar was still waiting for his, the woman at table three complained her glass had a chip in it, the kitchen said they ran out of limes so Chae had rushed out with his jacket falling off his shoulders to run to the corner store and hope they had limes and if not then to dash into any neighboring bars or restaurants to see if they would sell him some limes. He returned with a plastic bag filled with as many as he could get his hands on, gasping for air that was refusing to fill his lungs, eyes burning from the cold and throat flaring up. He felt light-headed and dizzy from the rushing adrenaline wrecking havoc on his weak body and after dropping off the limes to the kitchen had to hide in the back staffroom where he slumped with his back against the door and focused on sucking in a solid breath but all that he could manage were sporadic wheezes.

It was at this point, with his hands pressed tightly over his chest, rubbing as if that would somehow loosen up his lungs and make it easier to breathe, that he realized he was not actually alone in this back room like he had initially thought. Then he tried to make it look like he was fine by sucking in a deep breath and holding it in for a few seconds so he wasn't actively and loudly panting. "At least--" he started to say, struggling to make it sound smooth and effortless but it was very obviously strained, "--being busy---is better--than not," and offered a half-hearted and still strained smile toward Evanora.

LOCATION: Helia’s apartment/house TIMESTAMP: 25th of December @evanoraray

Helia touched Evanora’s arm gently, pulling her away from her company and with her outside, the door opened and closed, leaving the sound of the party behind. The isolation was mostly for the warmth, but the sound as a bonus. 

“How have you been holding up?” she asked, her voice just as gentle as her touch.

LOCATION: the Little Duck TIMESTAMP: new year @oh-chung-ae

Topher hadn’t been one to be interested in the local beer culture, nor did free or cheap alcohol ever sit well with them, until recently. Now they loved going to places and get a lot of cheap alcohol - or free alcohol - just so they could dance later.

They found Chae among the crowd, and grabbed his arm right away. “Chae! Let me buy you a drink!” They said, loudly.

LOCATION: outside of the Fenrir hospital TIMESTAMP: 27th of December @rclused

Helia was one who would always support the decision of the Council of Fenrir's Wood even if she didn't agree with it. That was part of carrying responsibility, of being at the top, of protecting the Supernaturals of the city. And she'd done worse things, saw worse, just to protect that secret. It was getting harder, but alas, it had to be done. She alway wondered if Nolan actually realised the favour that was being extended to him, the fact that he still had a chance to get the curse revoked.

Not many did.

Though the person who put the curse on Nolan was a well-kept secret, as they might be the only one to take it away.

"This is not your usual venue," she commented, as she saw Nolan upon leaving the hospital after her shift. "I take it you didn't come for me," she added. She always smiled a little, though more careful around the other than most. "Regardless, I did pack you your Christmas present. I have it in my car."

GIFS FOR EVERYONE

Having basked in the beauty of gift-giving her whole life, and practicing it daily still with the spirits, Helia loved giving out small things between the 24th of December and the 1st of January, having made her own tradition of the gift-giving tradition. She adores finding small things for those close and far from her, the ones she thinks need her attention.

FOR REZA this year she has found a pair of cool looking motor cycle pants that look like they've come right out of some kind of futuristic movie.

FOR CASEY, a new Witch within her city, she has bought a book on potions, it is one sold everywhere, but that's the beauty of it, because Helia knows the potions work.

FOR EVANORA, another new Witch in town, Helia has gotten two tickets to the local spa, because she figures this young witch can use a day where she is pampered and nobody is expecting anything of her.

FOR ROXY Helia has gotten a collection of face masks and hair masks from one of her favourite brands that have cute dance pictures on them.

FOR CHAE this year Helia has gotten a fresh batch of new silk expensive face masks and some new product she's found that should help against allergies.

FOR ALDEMAR this year she has collected a package of medicinal herbs that one can put around their house and are said to drive away evil spirits and at times even give a person a glimmer of recognition.

FOR JOEL she has bought a package of special beers from Belgium this year because she didn't know what else to buy.

FOR ZACH, who was clearly taken in by her collection of magazines, she has gotten a subscription to five magazines of his choice, all he needs to do is fill in a list on the internet and he'll be delivered a monthly collection at home.

FOR AXEL, a new Witch in town who she has rarely spoken to but knows exists, she has bought a small gift box for the creative mind, with pencils, notebooks, paint, brushes, and much much more.

FOR SALIM, a new Werewolf in town, Helia has gotten a small booklet with tickets, discounts, and so forth to get him acquainted with the city.

Helia opened up the door and smiled as she welcomed this new one in, she gestured for him to follow, giddy at the opportunity to widen his world and introduce him to the magical community, or at least the Witches who came to her house during the event. 

Not that there was anything witchy about her house during Christmas. “You can take of your coat and hang it there,” she said, gesturing Casey to the large closet. “If there are no more spaces, the floor is sadly your last option, but you wouldn’t be the first." 

During Christmas, there were usually between thirty and forty people at her apartment, which, to her luck, was one of the biggest ones available. It could easily hold more, and she could even put people outside, though as long as she didn’t have to, she didn’t. 

“Thank you for coming, I’m sure you’ll like it here, there are drinks, food, and we’ll do a little toast later. Make yourself at home, I’d say, but you’re welcome to stick to me for the next hour, I always ensure the newest people to my party don’t have to walk the floor alone,” she offered with a wink.
