最近はカンパニーの仕事で忙しく、なかなかブログ更新が出来ませんでした。すこし落ち着いたので、最近観た舞台をご紹介したいと思います。

スウェーデンにはいくつかダンスカンパニーがあるのですが、Härnösand（ヘルネサンド）という小さな町にあるNorrdansカンパニーがストックホルムにツアー公演に来たので見に行ってきました。

振付家はヨーテボリバレエ（現在はGöteborgsoperans Danskompani)で同僚だったFernando Melo。一緒にコンセプトを考え、衣装・ステージデザインを手がけたのはPatrick Kinmoth。私は2010年に彼らが初めて共同制作をした舞台に出演しました。

今回Fernandoの振付けアシスタントをしたのは根本しゅんぺいさんです。彼はストックホルムのクルベリバレエで活躍していましたが、ここ数年はフリーとしてダンサー／振付家／ビデオアート／ダンス講師などさまざまな活動をしています。彼とは十代の頃からの知り合いで、スウェーデンに来てからもよく交流があります。才能ある人が周りにいると、頑張るのも楽しくなってくるのでいいですね！

さて、作品ですがタイトルは"Middle of Nowhere"です。小ステージ作品で、空間の真ん中に大きな壁があり、観客はどのサイドから観たいかを選ぶことができます。休憩を挟んで２部になると、１部で観たサイドとは逆サイドから作品を見ます。ダンサーは１部，２部ともまったく同じ踊りを見せることになっていますが、壁の表と裏で違うことが同時に起こっているため、観客がどのサイドから観るかで作品の印象がかわるは面白いなと思いました。踊りも構成も舞台空間も作り込んでいて、見応えのある作品でした。地方のダンスカンパニーでも質の高い舞台を提供できる環境があるのはとっても良いことだと思います。日本では馴染みのないカンパニーですが、ご紹介したいのでトレーラーを是非ご覧下さい。
