That miiight leave a lasting impression on a person.
(I don’t even know, this was a running gag between me n sis that got way outta pocket lol)
Man I miss this movie so much, it needs to be appreciated along with all this 90s fashion and trend resurfacing, bring back the 90s movies!! <3 This one was great for supporting Australian wildlife and rainforests preservation and is super cute!

Main ship: batty x Lou and why?
Well the dynamic big lizard that dislikes humans, a little bat used in inhuman experiments that also hates humans. But both have stories that weren’t really told much in the movies and might be more alike then they first thought when Lou was given batty to help get used to wild life outside of the lab
Also the story takes place after both movies
Ferngully 2: Electric Boogaloo
So I was putzing around on Nexflix, seeing if anything caught my interest and I stumbled upon FernGully 2. Now I know, random sequels to classic movies generally don’t go well, but at the very least they’re usually tolerable (although I won’t get into the train wreck that was Tarzan and Jane), and I knew that as a kid I had wanted to see it so I figured why the hell not? Good lord did I make a mistake... This movie was so many levels of bad I don’t even know where to start.
The animation was AWFUL. Super cheap looking, and the animators clearly had no concept of aspect ratio. I swear Pips (the male fairy that had a crush on Crysta in the original FernGully) was never drawn the same size any time he was in a scene. And NOT ONCE was he drawn small enough that a human could have caught him in their hands like Zak did to Crysta in the first movie.
The voice acting was also rather lousy, and not just because the entire cast was replaced. It just... sounded bad. Like they were only half trying.
It was also pretty apparent that whoever had the bright idea to create this mess had never seen the original movie. Crysta was the one with the special powers. SHE was the one who was able to make things grow. Yes the other fairies helped her at the end of the movie, but whatever magic they had was no where near Crysta’s level, and yet EVERYONE seemed able to do what she could. Like, hello, that was part of the whole POINT of Ferngully. She was training to take over for Magi.
I will take back one criticism I had while watching it however. The fact that there was a kangaroo and a wombat in a rainforest. Reading about the original movie, apparently the rainforest in FernGully is meant to be in Australia. Something I never knew. Though now that I’m thinking about it... I think I vaguely recall a kangaroo in the first movie... But of course as a kid I wouldn’t have questioned something like that so.
Anyway, all and all, the movie was still bad, and I will be perfectly happy pretending it never existed. Though now I feel like I need to watch FernGully to properly erase this monstrosity from my mind.
