my favorite pokemon of that type: this is super tough… grass isn’t smth i’d call one of my favorite types necessarily but i do very much love a lot of grass types? i really think i gotta say lilligant though, my beautiful plant daughter
my second favorite pokemon of that type: pumpkaboo! specifically shiny pumpkaboo. gourgeist is also very good but everything about pumpkaboo is just the best
the cutest pokemon of that type: lurantis! (if you’re avoiding sun/moon spoilers then forget i said anything here, aha) honestly the only reason why i’m not listing it as a fave yet is bc i want to wait til i have one in-game
the most ridiculous (looking) pokemon of that type: i was gonna say ferroseed or smth like that, but then i remembered weepinbell (please look at its pokemon amie animations if you haven’t seen them, it really is Something)
ferrisbuelle replied to your post “while in the prequels the jedi exist, people still really know that...”
YEAh i forgot to mention its also just. probably shitty writting honestly
GEORGE LUCAS, EVERYONE. BEST WRITER OF THE CENTURY.
while in the prequels the jedi exist, people still really know that much about them - anakin even thinks of them as supernatural at the beginning and most people on the planets where our protagonists live have never met jedi (luke lives Far).. the sith are secretive, and yoda+obi are rly the only ones left in the originals to prove the religion existed- the emperor probably wiped everything from schools and history books, making it hard for newer generations to believe their existence
Part two of the response:“additionally, about the force, the jedi are part of a religion, and a lot of people views the force just as a religious/spiritual thing that people believed in, since not many people used it (like how vader did), a lot of people just saw it as some ancient religious belief… some people probably even thought ‘the force’ was just some magic trick and not a real thing… so really most of this is a matter of people not believing in things theyve never experienced first hand i think“
To me that just seems like shitty writing to have the Jedi be so powerful and influential politically and especially militarily for them to be just considered mythical by the populace. I mean, look at their giant fucking temple on Coruscant. You’re going to tell me the people who lived on Coruscant never saw padawans levitating things or practicing with lightsabers? And just because they may not have met a Jedi in real life, that doesn’t mean they couldn’t easily look it up on the holonet or hear about them on the news or met someone who has met one/is one…. It’s like a person from rural Wyoming saying “I don’t believe in the CIA because I’ve never met a CIA agent. Nevermind the fact that they have a huge building in Washington and are a major power in the political and military structures/workings of the country.” And what about all those races that joined forces with the Jedi like the Wookies in Attack of the Clones and such? And my point on the races like the Voss, Miraluka, etc still stands. It takes a whole hell of a lot longer than 20 years to beat just something like the religious side of the Force out of people- especially in an empire as vast as the Galactic Empire was. There would be no way they could control each colony world so tightly detailed as to wipe out any small or village level Jedi religious groups. You can’t erase literally over a thousand years of culture/religion/history in 20 years. A real life example is China. The Cultural Revolution may have brought down the old government system completely, but even the modern Chinese people still revere and worship Mao as an ancestor-god. You can take the emperor out of the society, but you can’t take the emperor worship that’s been there for 5000 years out of the society. Put that on a galactic scale with quite a few planets being rural backwaters that are staffed by maybe a handful of stormtroopers and bureaucrats and there’s no way such an established religion and movement with such power would be extinguished completely from those societies.
The point about Order 66 wiping out all but a few Jedi is valid- but only for children born POST Order 66. Non-Jedi or even Core World characters make references to the Jedi multiple times throughout the Prequels..... But then the script will turn around and refer to them only as MYSTERIOUS PROBABLY NOT REAL RELIGIOUS WEIRDOS or whatever. It’s extremely inconsistent.
But if the canon reason IS that Jedi were “kept so secret only senators and stuff knew about them but they still were basically the most elite soldiers in the republic military and recruited from all across the galaxy and had a massive temple in the middle of Coruscant and more” then just. Goddamn that’s some bad fucking writing.
