August Beer Festivals: Malta, London, Berlin, Halifax, Belgrade and Quebec City Celebrate in Big Beer Style

FARSONS GREAT BEER FESTIVAL Malta The archipelago that sits 50 miles of the coast of Sicily welcomes international brews like Guinness, Newcastle, Carlsberg and Beck’s to the Farsons Great Beer Festival at the Ta' Qali village for a week of beer festivities, music and art.  (July 27 - August 5) BERLIN BEER FESTIVAL Berlin, Germany Beers from across the globe are celebrated in Berlin, with 300 breweries from 86 countries serving over 2,000 brews to more than 80,000 attendees during the International Berlin Beer Festival. The three-day fest that’s set in the shadow of the twin towers at Frankfurter Tor also features live music from national and international artists.  (August 3 - 5) GREAT BRITISH BEER FESTIVAL London More than 50,000 imbibers sample over 1,000 ciders, perries, ales and international brews at the Great British Beer Festival. Food from around the world will also be served at Olympia, the exhibition hall that first opened in 1886, and becomes London’s largest pub for five days.  (August 7 - 11) HALIFAX SEAPORT BEERFEST Halifax, Nova Scotia Around 5,000 beer lovers gather to sample over 200 beers and ciders at the Halifax Seaport Beerfest, one of the biggest beer get-togethers on the East Coast. Live music from local bands, and food vendors representing the Taste of Nova Scotia, round out the maritime festivities.  (August 10 - 11)  QINGDAO BEER FESTIVAL Qingdao, China Asia’s biggest beer festival hosts world-class brews like Carlsberg, Beck's, Kirin, Heineken and Tiger, along with local favorite Tsingtao. The Qingdao International Beer Festival also features fashion shows, karaoke and multiple stages with live music over its two-week run.  (August 10 - 26) BELGRADE BEER FESTIVAL Belgrade, Serbia A staggering 500,000 attendees over five days make the Belgrade Beer Festival the largest in South Eastern Europe. Set at the base of the ancient city's Kalemegdan fortress, over 30 domestic and foreign beers are on tap at low prices, with no entrance fee at the five-day gathering that has live music nightly.  (August 14 - 19) FESTIBIERE DE QUEBEC Quebec City More than 60 brewers offer over 500 brews to around 100,000 attendees at the Festibiere de Quebec. Wine and ciders are also served at the event that features local live music.  (August 16 - 19) KEY WEST BREWFEST Key West, Florida Over 50 beers and micro-brews are on tap at the Key West Brewfest, which boasts pool parties, seminars, beer dinners and a beer school, as well as live music and raffles benefitting the Key West Sunrise Rotary Club of the Conch Republic.  (August 30 - September 3)
