I am absolutely stunned with how much I love this album and it's one of the first times I've listened to a submission three times in a row after dropping the needle the first time. It is truly that good, and I'm not sure how else to convince you since the album in its entirety is not available streaming yet (and only a few tracks are posted on the Soul Step page). My opinion is as good as anyone's and it's unlikely that you'll buy this sight-unseen (so to speak), but I'm telling you that you should. We're living in one of the most stressful and chaotic moments of many of our lives and this album is 100% positive, optimistic pop music that is effortlessly and perfectly executed. Coran Stetter, the lead-singer/guitarist and primary writer, has been through the WRINGER over the past few years with some health issues that threw a wrench into the band's forward momentum a few years ago. He picked himself up, glued back together the pieces that mattered and replaced the ones that didn't, and reemerged into the world with one of the catchiest and satisfying albums I've heard in a very long time. I'm primed to reject pop in many cases because of how derivative and boring it can be, but Multimagic has taken their own unique voice and paired it with homage to bands like Arcade Fire, The Cure, and everyone I loved at SXSW years ago and made the first album that took me back in the best way possible.
