So I thought a bit more about fetus Jack and read some posts
I think something that people overlook due to fetus Jack's power is how the power imbalance goes both ways, that there's a sort of mutual hostage situation, especially with Kelly
There's debate about whether Jack manipulated or just straight-up magically brainwashed Castiel and Kelly, and the common moralization is that he doesn't consciously control it. However, both Castiel and Kelly are actively trying to kill him when he does it. This makes it a bit more morally justifiable if he did purposefully brainwash them, because really wouldn't anyone do the same in self-defense?
No-one (mostly) would have blamed Kelly if she had wanted the abortion, even though fetus Jack seems to be sentient, because she wanted to live. Is it fair to expect Jack to be willing to die for her, then? Especially considering she attempted to take them both out, Jack healing her and altering her desire to die is completely understandable as self-preservation.
Castiel too is a major threat to fetus Jack, because while he has good intentions he is still trying to kill him and Kelly, and is the most powerful member of TFW. Castiel hesitates and is clearly conflicted about it, and Jack gives him time to try to come around and listen to Kelly. But ultimately when they're on the threshold of Heaven that will kill them, Jack converts him to his side.
And then there's the supposed potential compromise or removing his grace. When Fetus Jack doesn't want that, it's just taken as him wanting to keep his powers. However we learn from later in the show that Jack can't survive without his grace, so would this procedure have slowly killed him?
And tragically, he loses both of these converted defenders right as he's born, so he ends up with no-one
If it's all true, I do wonder if Jack's partial amnesia when he was born was a kind of defense mechanism. He felt bad about what he did to survive and chose to forget he even had that power, lest he be tempted to use it again
For some random reason I was just thinking about Frozen 2 coming up and marveling over how long it’s been since the first Frozen came out. It doesn’t feel like that long ago, right? But then I went and looked up something else and --
On the general theatrical release date for Frozen, Jack looked like this:
And now it feels like centuries ago XD
little jack with his older brother
So I decided to watch some old school @therealjacksepticeye and I FOUND THE BIRTH OF THE HAT!! Feel like I should get a badge of something (From White Day-A Labyrinth Called School 5)
