FF002 Transports Guests into the Further Future

Two members of the LivebyMusic crew recently stepped away, just for a weekend, from our current existence and into the Further Future. FF002, (a hashtag highly recommended exploring) has become for us a term of endearment for the experience that was this this years Further Future Festival.
"Moving beyond the confines of a traditional music festival, Further Future establishes a modern means of social movement and cultural change, engaging a conscious community through a unique curation of world-class musicians and art, alongside inspiring leaders in the areas of science, entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology." --http://www.furtherfuture.com/ff002#/what-is-further-future/
Resting against a backdrop of mysterious desert wilderness on the Moapa River Indian Reservation near Las Vegas, Nevada, FF002 transported the hearts and minds of nearly 4,500 futurists on their own journeys into the potentials of our futures. With accommodations ranging from car camping to futuristic pod-style tents and even luxurious trailers, persons from all walks of life harmoniously co-mingled enjoying FF002's 24-hour programming of mental and aural stimulation from Friday to Monday. Thought-provoking panels engaged listeners with discussions led by prominent speakers including Google/Alphabet Inc. Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, iHeartMedia CEO Bob Pittman, and cannabis entrepreneur Jane West, each touching on the future of innovation in their respective field.

While the Ablyss Spa, an open-air oasis, pampered guests with rejuvenating treatments, a first-rate wellness program added sunset yoga, parkour lessons, and talks. Other guests of this future found themselves dining on intimate dinners with world-renowned chefs including Frank Gorriceta (Nobu), Jason Neroni (The Rose), and Michael Bryant (The Larchmont).

Of course as avid music fans, the LBM's crew made our way in direct route to FF002's several music hubs, absolutely falling in love with the flagship stage, the Mothership. A mad max-esk arena of ship containers and empty pallets surrounding a stage featuring iconic performances ranging from Caribou to the legendary hip hop crew the Pharcyde, and UK electronica legends Leftfield. In other stage destinations EDM beats kept futurists dancing 24-7.

While an untimely series of storms did make navigating the muddy grounds difficult at times, the intensity of mother natures fury only added to the beauty and power of the landscape and the comradery of the community of futurists as a whole. Frankly we wouldn’t have changed that aspect of the experience even if we could. The LBM crew left this festival with feelings of inspiration, hope and well being. A simple neon sign resting in the background near the Robot Heart stage uttered not only our hopes but our logical conclusion of the Future for the Further Future festival " This is just the beginning."
