Wakka x reader – spending a day at the beach (HCs)

Wakka can’t sit still for more than ten minutes, so don’t expect a quiet and peaceful day at the beach with him. He’s really active and always wants to do something but if you want to lie around and relax he won’t force you to romp around with him.

He usually brings a blitzball with him, just in case he wants to practice a new move. Also, if you’re interested in blitzball Wakka will gladly teach you some basic techniques and help you improve them. Another thing he likes to do is just passing the blitzball back and forth for fun, either at the beach or in the water.

If you like building sandcastles Wakka will try his best to help you. The thing is: he doesn’t have the patience for things like that and he gets really frustrated if he can’t get it right at the first go, so you probably end up sitting thereon your own. He will admire the finished sandcastle though, especially since he apparently has zero talent for stuff like that.

Wakka makes sure that you don’t forget to use sunscreen. It can get pretty hot in Besaid and he doesn’t want you to get sunburned, so he reminds you to renew your sunblock regularly.

He definitely doesn’t hesitate to play in the water with you. Wakka is a manchild, especially when you spend a day at the beach together, so he will splash water into your face every so often and try to dip you under water. He also gives you piggyback rides which usually ends with him falling over when he gets hit by a wave.

“c'mon, now's the perfect time–!”

your boyfriend had grabbed you by the wrist and dragged you outside of the inn you were staying. outside it was pouring, yet tidus was eager to get drenched in rain with you by his side.

“i'm not kissing you in the rain! we'll catch a cold!”

you pouted, half laughing, as tidus pulled you over the doorstep and outside into the rain. within moments, you were already soaking wet, yet tidus seemed unbothered by that. he simply smiled and wrapped his arms around you, holding you tight.

“but there's nothing more romantic than this!”

before you could reply, tidus had put his lips on yours, passionately kissing you. you returned the kiss without hesitation, blocking out the rain and only focusing on the sweet taste of your boyfriend's lips. after a while, you couldn't help but pull away and gasp for air, before tidus broke out into a soft laughter.

“see, i knew you'd enjoy it–!”

he teased, causing you to roll your eyes and grab him by his collar, only to pull him into another kiss.

“just shut up and kiss me again~!”

auron tried to turn away from you, again and again, as you tried to tend to his wounds. he was much too prideful to admit he got hurt, simply covering up his wounds under his coat. but he couldn't fool you.

“it's just a scratch. it hurts, but i'll live.” auron huffed, not even looking at you. “now don't make such a fuss about it!”

once again, auron tried to shove you to the side. but this time, you were quick to push him back, forcing him to sit down, as you climbed onto his lap. it was enough to not only surprise him enough to stay quiet, but also to make sure he didn't move anymore.

“even if you don't want my help, you can't stop me from caring about you.” you said, as you grabbed some bandages. “now sit still while i take care of you.”

a small smile hushed over auron's lips. instead of complaining again, he simply kept quiet as you commanded, while you began to tend to his wounds.

those were the last words you heard rikku say, before your view became foggy and you collapsed onto the ground

when you opened your eyes moments later, your head was resting in your girlfriend's lap, as she had removed some layers of your clothes and pulled you into the shade

“hey, you passed out…” rikku greeted you, a sad smile on her lips, as she pushed your hair out of your face

you still felt very weak and it was way too hot to move, but luckily rikku had already prepared a bottle of water for you

“i knew you wouldn't be able to handle the sun in the desert, but i didn't think it'd be this bad…” rikku sighed, as you rested for a few more minutes

your girlfriend had grown up with this heat, but this was all new to you

you felt sick from the heat, but rikku playing with your hair and talking to you made the whole thing much more bearable

rikku felt a little bad for not considering that this could happen. but now she knew that the next time she'd drag you to the desert, she'd have to look after you!

the moment the owner of the inn said those words, yuna and you turned towards each other slowly, as if time had slowed down. your eyes met for a moment, only to shyly avert the gaze again a second later.

“o-one room should be enough–!” yuna decided, politely smiling at the owner of the inn and taking the key, before quietly whispering to you, “i'll just sleep on the floor tonight and you'll take the bed!”

as yuna headed towards your shared room for tonight, you were still frozen in place, thoughts racing through your brain. you had shared rooms before, but it had never been just the two of you! as you began to overthink the situation, yuna had already reached the room. and once you noticed she wasn't by your side anymore, you snapped out of your thoughts and hurried after her.

“w-wait, i can't let you sleep on the floor–!” you lamented, as you caught up with her at the door to your shared room. “you’re the summoner and i'm your guardian! lulu, khimari, wakka… they'd all kill me if i'd let you sleep on the floor, so i can't allow that!”

as yuna opened the door to the room, you quickly slipped inside before her, to head to the bed. it was a large one, big enough for two people. for a second, you thought of another way to settle this. but you wouldn't dare say it out loud.

“i'll take the floor tonight! there's no way i can let you sleep on the ground…” you said, grabbing a pillow and one of the two blankets, before turning to yuna. but when your eyes met hers, she blushed. as if she thought of something. something that might've crossed your mind too.

“if you insist that i take the bed, then the least i can do is share it with you!”

yuna's cheeks weren't the only red ones anymore, as a blush hushed over your own cheeks as well. to share a bed with yuna… no, you shouldn't even think about it! you were her guardian and to share a bed with the summoner…

“if you decline, then i'll have to insist on sleeping on the floor!” yuna was determined to share the bed with you. so much so that she grabbed a pillow and blanket, mimicking your own action from moments ago and spreading both items on the floor, to show that she was determined.

“a-alright, we'll share the bed–!” you caved in, taking the blanket and pillow away from yuna and tossing it back onto the bed. yuna simply smiled softly, as you averted your gaze, ashamed to agree to this. “just… not a word to lulu or wakka, please. i don't think they'd ever forgive me for this…”

“i promise, i won't say a word.” yuna placed a finger on her lips and smiled a bit. “i don't want to worry them. i'm sure lulu would worry that something could happen tonight…”

there was a moment of awkward silence, as yuna trailed off, not finishing her sentence. she didn't need to, as you both knew what she meant. after a long moment of silence, yuna smiled again and broke the silence.

“but there's nothing to worry about, right?” she asked and you smiled awkwardly and nodded. “r-right, nothing's happening tonight–!”
