In the og the person who I believe is talking to unconscious Cloud, is Zack from the life stream, he also warns him when there's danger in the reactor and makes a small comment at Aerith. Going "hm, how about that." When she says hello.

That's a really good point, Anon, thank you! It's been so long since I played the original game that I'd completely forgotten Zack does this.

If anyone is interested, @sunandrainfic and I fangirl over the possibility of it being Zack in the comments. I think its still ambiguous in the game, but this is quite convincing evidence Anon!

Cloud being flustered is the most endearing thing. The way he’s all “Uh, s-sorry!” when he realises he’s crushed Aerith’s flowers in Chapter 8, and mutters “uh...’scuse me” when he catches himself staring at Aerith in her dress in Chapter 9,

DAMMIT, here I am trying to get the other dresses, and I forgot to not complete the sidequests in Chapter 8. I went and completed them all again, because I’m just Like That.
