I love your characters a lot! I think Im going to try to re-read the comic to see if i can make better sense of the plot haha, the time jumping really fucks me up but i really appreciate that the story is from different characters point of view (even in different times) instead of just focusing on one protag.
Yeah FFAK is very disorienting, things have been connecting together a little easier to see the bigger picture but we are no where near done with the plot/timeline chaos. I intend to keep that a pretty consistent feature in the story as a whole but we do have a “present day” timeline we will always anchor/go back to. There’s many things that get presented that, intentionally, you’re not meant to fully grasp and are supposed to take it at whatever your face value of the experience is, only to later learn the context to if you care to seek it out or can remember it. Its very reflective of how I think and dissect things in my own real world honestly, but making that kind of thing work in a readable format is generally something that takes me a long time. The good news is we’re getting close to a third of the story’s completion. (or at least what i hypothesize to be the end of the first arc, not sure if the other arcs are going to be the same length or shorter/longer... lol inb4 i eat my own words and say “nope nvm guys its gonna be longer than i expected again!! heres my 300 new ocs to learn about!!”) But yeah basically ffak kind of is the type of slow-paced long story that requires both patience and a certain kind of flexibility to “get into” i suppose? To help I also released a temporary official timeline, although it might contain spoilers if you aren’t completely up to date. Also to help, i did confirm there is no literal time travel in the story among other things. I.. think i also wrote about that somewhere too probably lol. Anyway, Not that any of the bonus content/text posts I post are actually necessary to read/enjoy the comic, i like to think that you should be able to experience the comic completely without them. as the stuff i write about in text posts is, to a certain degree, not technically “100% perfectly canon” in my mind since they’re much more flexible than when i finally put comic pages together. I MEAN THEY ARE but its like, you know. wiggle room (worm wiggles) I DO really like providing with them because there’s just literally so much information about FFAK that I feel comfortable enough releasing it and like to explain some of the stuff going on in the background for those interested. (And just for my own records as I... like answering things. :3c) i also have a toyhouse for character profiles that helps provide a little bit of help on keeping track of who is who. sort of. -Perkons gets a hold of 1 of Crimson’s eyes at some point, turns it into a Knife.
YEAR 1429
- Perkons turns 2 in july and is a fully matured adult. Rest of the 4 hekatons eggs hatch sometime after in that year.
-Dievas assumes protective guardian role for his siblings.
-Dievas meets Aeschylus. (ch11)
YEAR 1430
Perkons turns 3. The rest of the first hekatons are one. During this year they mature to an adult.
YEAR 1431
Lauma meets Velns, who is imprisoned. Then shortly after, Perkons confronts Lauma, she is 2, he is 4. So It took place after July 1431. He transforms the 2nd crimson eye into a Spoon in front of her.
Years 1431-1448 (specific dates not all disclosed sry):
-Velns/Lauma, Dievas/Laima begin making children. baby baby baby!
YEAR 1438 - Crimson (Age 11) is eaten by a Hydragora Queen worm - loosing her human body in the process but gaining a worm one instead.
-Crimson runs around in a destroyed city, holding a corpse. Meets Velns who taunts them.
-Lauma and Dievas make up, and have their first nest together- a Batch of A/B hybrid eggs.
-Lauma is killed by Perkons
-Velns is killed by Perkons (Which was also on Dmtia’s Moon, so the moon is destroyed.)
-Laima is “killed” by Perkons. (Actually survived, as part of Dievas’ plan.)
-Perkons confronts Dievas with the Crosshatch Unit and mention they fight for Peace and under the “Thumb” alliance. Perkons kills Dievas. (scene in ch11)
-Laima escapes with A/B Eggs, as well as other hekaton eggs. (and will later form the Ghost Kingdom, which she rules as queen.)

-After months of searching/failed attempts at locating him, Knife confronts and is stung by Simon’s close personal bodyguard, a queen worm named Nail who is famous for killing over 50,000 Hekatons. (Gaining him the nickname “Hekaton Hunter.” (CH12)

-Knife Adopts a tiny perfect adorable fluffball c-type and names him Kurt.
-Spoon hates it like more than anything ever
-Spoon and Knife end up having to live separately, causing a huge strain in their relationship.

-feeling neglected, Spoon starts to sleep around, including the Crosshatch unit and becomes p close friends w/ them! its actually a positive thing for once. wtf (ch11)
-Kurt becomes Agent Fork and works alongside Agent Knife on missions and its adorable and great but knife’s depression is also growing bc he misses spoon

-Locket confronts Knife. Knife is so traumatized from meeting a surprise biological child that he has a meltdown and vanishes. he is then believed to have died.
-Spoon Explodes from sadness of the news, but does not die. Half of him leaves to Cash Leadman’s house, who convinces him to keep living. He becomes “Scissor”, using her former crosshatch robot body. (ch11)
-The other half meets Locket and has his Spoon stolen from him. very sads. Also cant wear thongs anymore (ch11)
YEAR 1957
-At some point during this year, Spoon kills Agent Rock’s dad and also prevents Fork from being able to enter Wibbleworld (his dream). (Scene in ch8)
-Fork goes back to prison (guess what, it wasnt his first time goin’ there!)
YEAR 1958-present
-the death of rock’s hot dad springs a chain reaction of all his sons trying to kill spoon and getting revenge. Spoon successfully kills them all though lmfao. dont fuck with the leg.
-fork breaks up with dollop and she starts stalking him
YEAR 1961
-Dylan and Agent Knife meet in Wibbleworld moon, on July 8th (his birthday) He reveals secrets to her. (ch11)
-Dylan/Celadon and Antony believe they are successful at killing Agent Knife on this same day.
YEAR 1962
-Feb 2 - Aeschylus wakes up in LEVEL K of the Crosshatch Colony (The Aiguille Moon) and is escorted by Antony Aiguille (Age 21) and Celadon #1, #2 and #3. Dylan and Barfy show up. (Ch 11)
-Dylan tries to convince Antony not to get eaten (and fails) (ch12)
-March - A mysterious earthquake and worm outbreak kills 20,000 residents in the Crosshatch Colony. O_O
-July 7th - Fork meets Dylan for the first time. :3 (Another serving episode one!)
-July 8th: This is where the present timeline begins! Canary wakes up on a platform. Hooray! we made it. i dont feel like typing out the events u can just read the comic i guess lol. farts!

I suppose this is a good time to ask, is there by any chance a sort of timeline of key events at all?
I havent released an official timeline™ yet, as the ones I have contain… farrr too many spoilers+random details- but dates have been released in the comic and I do plan to at least make a basic comic timeline that I can fill in along with the story as it progresses. The only problem is that im not exactly sure how I should go about this its gotta be something I can edit easily. :/ it can be a bit overwhelming from my perspective to figure out how to .. present it without revealing too much as well?? lol some dates i want to keep vague, like it happened inbetween a certain period, but not exactly saying when specifically. (like i have not said exactly when the first hekatons died, but we have a vague idea when it took place, and that it was a very long time ago.) I also would like to be able to list it while referencing scenes. Like (This scene happened at this date) or w/e. But if anyone has a question about when certain scenes take place, i can always answer on a personal basis in the mean time! It might not be ideal but its one option lol.
The most major events I feel are things like… dates of characters being born, or dates characters die, or dates certain characters meet. ect.
The plot also will not progress into the future in a non-linear format, it only will for past events. (save for the scene of rome sitting in the chair that appears in the beginning of ch2, and also at the beginning of ch12.) So the present day timeline is July 8th 1962!
(The most far in the past we have ever traveled appears in ch11, when Good Leadman was 14 and the year was 1415.)

Is some day in this world the same as one regular 24 hour day? Or is their day longer/shorter? Because this day has been going on FOREVER.
It hasn’t …been that long!! ;o; its just a regular sized day, just very meticulously drawn out and also covers over multiple character perspectives, which… can make a single day seem much longer!! because we see many different people are living thru at it at once!! so it feels like many days instead of just one. Sometimes there will be some references to what time it is currently…

I really enjoy movies/film that “cover over” the span of only one or two days, so thats sort of my inspiration involving this.. arc..? I guess?? It was sort of ~subtly~ revealed here. As Aeschylus died on July 8th 1962. o:Knife’s birthday is always a sort of significant day in FFAK land.. I wonder why? Hmmm… Say, i wonder when this mysterious Final Feast will begin..? O_O
You said the story takes place within a day, so does that apply to every scene? For instance, would Crimson's first encounter with galore be on that same day? (It's before, right???)
oh god, no. no… that was 500+ years ago, aha. not every scene takes place on the same day!! @.@ it basically is only referring to the ‘present timeline’ events. chs 1-7 are all present timelinech 8 is mostly present timeline. w/ some flashbacky bitsch 9 none at all!!ch10.. uhh.. fairly certain theres a little bit, but mostly notch11 i dont think it had any! ch12 is present timeline events so farby what i mean present timeline, is that its ‘currently’ happening on July 8th 1962, the day the comic starts out with and has not currently concluded.

yea, i understand it can be pretty difficult to parse though considering my strange pacing format. It’ll likely continue that way as I sort around with this current arc. Itd be way easier to help clear up confusion I knew where you started having troubles though! This is a little too vague for me to work with very well.. I’m gonna assume?? it could have started in ch10 or 11 since those two are the most unusual formats and they shift gears in a really disorienting fashion. (and 1-8 were for the most part, pretty linear. Id say ch 9 was fairly straightforward to follow as well, id say)
Have you considered re-reading at all? I think FFAK generally makes more sense if you read or skim over certain chapters over again and suddenly have a lot more context to old information. I’d like to type up chapter summaries sometime but making a flow chart.. ehh. Like I think I could..? But itd take some effort to figure out what to say and what not to accidentally spoil, since the non-linear format leaves some details left out inbetween events. There’s like, several character story arcs.. then world history story arcs.. then many of those arcs intermingled.. I’d probably try to just follow as closely to the info given in the chapters so itd be more of a summary-via-flowchart format.
In any case, chapter 9-11 are mostly detailing the origin of the hekatonkheires species (and the fate of what happened to the first hekatons). Since Knife is the first one, he has had a lot of focused attention and how events relate to him or his involvement in the root of conflict between Heel/Thumb. Those are the two major opposing forces in present day FFAK, who are attempting to take over/keep control over the moon colonies after ditching the home planet of DMTIA. Those two things are like.. kinda the most important key stuff these chapters are saying. with the fun details such as: the leaders are both Crimson’s parents. And One ofthe is Canary’s Mother.
Hopefully the FFAK WIKI can get some more information soon so I can use it as a resource for info. Its not quite there yet though.. For now, you have a sea of asks.. and a sea of questions.
