@kosmicdream
happy pride to the gay boys you havent met yet in my new comic.
disclaimer: interactions subject to change in canon as we get there but hopefully we can get tommie fingering shark's bellybutton. we'll see.
slowly making myself learn how to draw suits better. bc that's all that malcus wears
past me: i wonder what sort of story ill end up making next? :) me now: santa claus... but fucked upppppp lol past me: *sighs* yeah. i guess im not surprised
im creating a ffak world in tomodachi life just to see who naturally connects
i need to play more.. but i get scared of videogames cuz i can lose so much free time to them.. it was fun making Knife/Fork/Spoon tho. (i only played for a couple hours LOL)
hi kosmic! I just binged all of nrd the other day and I’m obsessed now. just wanted to ask tho, for all the old folks in the room (me), would it be possible to fix the rss? it seems to be down or sth: I tried adding it to my feedly the last couple days, but it can’t seem to identify it. thanks so much :) and thanks for your fantastic work as well!
i.. am sorry. I am old in the way that I have never learned how to do things like that. Both websites for FFAK/NRD were made by my close friend, who is busy doing IRL job things and it would be a lot to set time aside for to fix this stuff.. as the websites are very out of date ATM and have not been updated in a long time. I am not actually sure there was a rss that worked for them.. If I knew how I would but it is way too scary for me to mess with myself and potentially break things. I cannot even code neopet lookups/petpages!!!!!!!!!
I do post updates on twitter/bskys dedicated to all my comics. It isn't the best solution but it's what I do. I also have a patreon if you want immediate updates and also a way to help support my comics in general, such as paying for the domains and such.
Thanks so much for your support & interest in my work !!

i’ve been very curious about these questions for a while: are species/creatures created through king seeds blood related to the king who makes them? Are the Aguilles or the Hekatons blood related to Aldebaran? It seemed like Cadmium was considered Antony’s kid. Did Aldebaran ever view the species he created as his children?
That's kind of a tricky answer for me because like.. yes and no. There clearly ARE some overlap and influences from the parent and it also depends ON the new species itself. The new species & what they can do are also dependent on who the king is and what they are able to do.. but also what they ate. So it can be a very wide pool of genetics to create something very fundamentally different, to a degree where they would not be able to create offspring with worms for example. At least not usually, there are exceptions (Dollop can if she wished.)
I'd say Hekatons are much less blood related to Aldebaran than Aiguille and much more based on his diet and.. gut biome? Of course, this is very speculative and weird alien scifi biology, but I always kind of considered them to be.. somehow more drawing from the chemical "waste" and amino acids of the Worm. Digestion IS fundamentally the most powerful aspect of the worm and it's shapeshifting, so a creature that is basically ALL tissue and a very dense, indigestible, flammable liquid feels appropriate that it might stem from those things. Does it really make sense tho? I am not sure. I don't even think Aldebaran knows how he managed to make it work - but he's pretty proud of his skill regardless. Although, Knife still made him very angry with how he disobeyed his commands and ruined his chance to control the Hekatons for himself. They were passed down to Evil Mother instead.
Cadmium is MUCH more genetically related to Antony (or specifically, Canary) and Celadon and would be considered a descendent, although she is not a worm. I wont disclose what kind of species she could have offspring with but she is a similiar case to what Dollop can do.. but in a different way, i guess.
Aldebaran did not consider any of his created species his "children" .. except for the Aiguille. He mostly used it as a joke to creep Rowan out but he was in love with Rowan in a very worm-obsessed kind of way. So his jokes had more truth to it than he was actually being honest about. I think Rowan kind of understood that too.. which made it creepy and he disliked/felt guilty over it. Aldebaran is just NOT subtle and does not have a good poker face with these things, especially around Rowan who has known him basically his whole life.
Out of context this is so fuckin funny.
haha im glad. That's why I wanted him to pick snowflake lol
i am enjoying drawing kid malcus.. he's just such a serious art kid. i dont think ive made a character who reminded me so much of myself as a child so it's been giving me a lot to think about lately!! I guess Fork has a little bit of kid-me too. I was VERYYY into Disney.. dont give a fuck about it now tho. Except I guess like.. Hercules.. once i hit anime/manga it was over. no nostalgic value latched on vrs almost everything else I was obsessed with as kid.
when did u decide to bring aeschylus back, as it were? cuz i remember u saying a lot that he wouldnt come back
TBH i'm not really sure! it must have been in the first-ish year of working on FFAK so thats over 10 years ago. From what I remember, I had already sketched a humanoid version of him for the flashbacks and got more attached to the idea because people kept drawing fanart of him from ch10. I think because I thought about it so much I got ideas for what I would do if he did, so it ended up happening. That also happened with Galore, who I also did not plan to return but got swayed by how popular she was for readers.
Nail on the other hand, was always meant to be a weed character who returned from the dead after being killed from Simon. That was going to be the basis of the character and also help establish weeds as this predator TO worms, kind of completing this "food chain" idea I wanted to have for FFAK. I ended up wanting him to have other characters to interact with, so having Aeschylus (and later Randall) be ones that readers were already familiar with being janitors with him was a fun enough idea that I ended up going with it in the end. I also really liked his weed design, frankly. Stupid jokes will win me over and many things i start out "as a joke" end up happening for real if I speculate on it enough.. Like Nasty Red Dogs as an entire comic (spawned from me thinking about what I'd do for a zombie comic. You know, as a joke.)
IMO I actually do think the characters were probably better to have died (narratively speaking) for impact/loss but I also feel glad to have gone through it to understand what works and what doesnt for making that kind of choice. Sometimes deaths are meant to be permanent, others are built in to not be the case (like Nail.) I think that you can always find an excuse/reason to bring someone back but it is always harder to commit to a death when you were not going to. It's natural to go through your own grieving process in a way, especially if you can always think of new ideas/scenes for them that would be interesting to explore. So having a character like Rock felt like a turning point in being a writer where I was following through with that choice, although Rock was never a popular character like Aeschylus or Galore were haha. It helped also with NRD and other characters I've written that I felt like I was slipping into that habit to excuse myself from doing what needed to be done. In any case, it will still be hard to do as we reach major characters in FFAK. I won't say what ones obviously - and it isn't all of them! But.. there are some pretty major deaths. Thankfully FFAK is so long it will take a while to get there, however lol.
religion of toy is not about breaking cycles of abuse. its about creating NEW more exciting ones.
I spent all day drawing/inking this for FFAK.. i feel bad i never do illustrations & group pictures anymore but it always is hard to juggle such a huge cast! So it felt nice to make something that felt like a reflection of a nostalgic era of early FFAK. id love to possibly color this sometime but uhhh we’ll see how that goes.
his vision
Yesterday my newest webcomic Religion of Toy hit 100 pages! Always exciting to get a comic to that number and I've really really enjoyed drawing it so far. Been a very different experience making it vrs basically all my other comics so far since I've been developing/writing it for years and I'm glad I waited. The satisfaction to share stuff has been worth it.
Anyway we're about.. 1/3 or 1/2 way through the second chapter. I have about six fully scripted and written with a big outline mega script for the whole story so I'm not even sure how much that is. Just been taking my time with it.
I went to a wedding recently and I barely ever go out and dress up or whatever so heres me outfit.
