OHHHH HELLO NEW THEME!!!!!! so nice to look at i think ive been staring at the header for a long time now
also i have a question! what exactly does robin think about finney in your au? i know that’s alittle vague but i’m curious …..
HOORAY!!
this might. be a bad answer my brain is scrambled
if we're talking ffo au well. uh. they haven't really. "met" yet. Right now, without knowing how Finn is? He's spent a while convincing himself his best friend is dead. Not that he's the pessimistic type, but it's been four years—these things need to be coped with after a certain point. Other than thinking he's dead, he hates talking about him. He will with as little words as possible when people bring him up, but he won't open up about what he remembers and pour his heart out to you. Mostly because he misses him, partially because he feels bad. He kinda blames himself for Finn getting kidnapped. Since it (probably) won't be said much in the fic, so i'll give a tiny summary of what exactly happened:
Finney's finished helping Rob with his math. To treat themselves, the boys headed over to some corner store or whatever to buy candy, snacks, all that jazz. After doing so, the two boys part and Finney gets taken instead of him. Robin blames himself because, well. If he had walked home with Finn, that might not have happened.
so!! that's the finn rob remembers!! spoilers below for (somewhat vague) future plans.
BUT. WHEN they meet again he mostly has a ton of sympathy and stuff. He doesn't quite understand what Finney's been through, and neither does he, really, but he has this odd sense of responsibility for Finn like he does Gwen—he's got to make up for the lost time.
i gotta make it last until the next blue moon .. "

Hey there!; I've been eyeing your blog for a while now. :].
I was wondering. How would original Finney react to FFO!Finney?. Would they not like each other?
oh man.
i've got no clue. gonna pretend they learn shit about each other though. Trying to stick to things that I've said in the fic too. My brains a bit jumbled though, so if anything feels random, it hasn't been told to the reader of my fic yet or its just. i don't even know. So.
honestly? i feel like canon Finney would despise him. Take one look and feel disgusted. That happens to you every day? Why aren't you dead yet? What the hell is wrong with you? Probably a bit of. uh. he feels bad, but mostly what i'm just gonna say is "hate" because of how FFO Finney has. oddly positive-ish feelings towards The Grabber. For now, at least. I mean, he mostly sees the dude through rose-tinted glasses from the isolation and such.
So, regular Finney? He doesn't like him. Not at all. He looks at him and is disgusted, maybe feels a little bad, but he's not outright with it. Would probably not talk to him, or maybe he'd feel, like, provoked or just.. really really mad and uncomfortable and maybe try to fight him.
(FFO Finney would not last, by the way, he's scrawny. In a bad way.)
FFO!Finney is.. I mean, he probably wouldn't hate him or feel the same way regular Finney would. He doesn't hate anyone—not that he's fully aware of and can tell himself "i hate __" at least. He's got a sort of positive view on everyone, mainly because he's taken The Grabber's "If they're down here, they're our friends," and turned it into more of an everyone sort of thing. A guy on TV? Woah, a new friend! A kid in the basement? Wow, a friend!
FFO Finney would probably, i guess, maybe just be jealous? if we get him meeting Finn at the point where he properly realizes his whole situation is really, really bad or something.
thanks for the ask!!! really got me thinking. and happy! i love asks about my aus. :)
Random lines from my au that I really like. below cut cuz they might be long + potential spoilers. no order. also trigger warning because yes the shitty stuff can also be written in a way that is uh. "satisfying"? poetic?? idk. i like the way it's written but not the action or intention. some are edited to be more vague. make guesses on the random ones & their context if you want or give comments, that's fine by me.
read the fic here
"Faith and religion hadn't brought her much so far, but she could hope it would if she kept trying."
"But, even so, he tried to stay gentle. He wanted to be a better dad, after all."
"That it meant he was loved, adored, cherished. The best thing to happen to anyone, and the best thing to stay with a specific someone."
"And, as usual, he, of course, voiced this discomfort—one of the few he knew he could voice."
"He didn't have to respond—he knew what would probably happen, even if he did decide to say no. The disgusting man who kidnapped him would do whatever he wanted anyway. He always did. It wouldn't be different now, so what was the point?"
"The boy, meanwhile, suddenly lost his chipper attitude and his chattiness and went over to the man, grabbing a hold of his hand and arm in a way that didn't seem too father-son, more uncomfortably intimate to him, at least, as the man shook a can."
"If it was, he was ruined, tainted. He was a mess—and not a good mess. And he needed to be fixed, put back in his place."
"With his friend's hand still on his cheek, he leaned in to do what was asked, but didn't get too far. These moments never got to be truly comforting or normal."
"Unlike most mornings, Albert Shaw was brought back into the world of the conscious and awake with no teenage boy half-dressed, or entirely undressed, sleeping in bed beside him, under the warm sheets. Instead, the bed was cold, empty on the other side, much unlike the usual morning where it was warm with his favorite boy, who would usually be exhausted from their previous fun."
"All of a sudden, his head was fuzzy. Full of cotton, it felt, as he took a weak step forward. His legs protested at the attempt, and he swayed after the small step before he tipped forward."
"There was a silence that filled the room. An uncomfortable silence, one that was awkward and made him want to let the tears fall, or maybe run. Instead, though, he just frantically shook his head, taking a few steps back. He didn't know how he felt right now, apart from terrified. He didn't know how he felt about this boy, either. Maybe he hated him."
"Stuck with a man whose name he never learned despite learning the man’s body, it's most all he remembers, save for bits and pieces."
"His “couple days” quickly turned into a few. Which then turned into ten. Then that turned into a month. Then, that turned into a month and a half."
"He looked weirdly uncomfortable—the same sort of uncomfortable their dad would always look."
"“Maybe that's why you're so weird. Your own house freaks you out.”"
"But, no, he liked to think he was merciful; he wouldn't let him do that, oh, no."
"His head swam and he sort of just wanted to give in, settle back into the comfort of mindless obedience and praise."
