omg demand and you shall receive!! this got real long...so i've added a keep reading lol
bradley always wanted to be a pilot just like their father
in some weird way it became ronnie's dream too, but only a dream half-remembered. Her heart, her soul was never in that.
they talked about it all the time growing up. how as soon as they graduated they were going to join the navy and get into the academy and go to TOPGUN - just like their old man.
they are super close as siblings.
did they wrestle when they were little kids? does ronnie have an absolutely devastating pile driver? yes. yes she does.
bradley taught her how to drive, made sure she did her homework, gave boys she dated in high school "the speech" to make sure they respected her
they are as close as close can be (until he joins up, then they grow more distant)
iceman sends her a card/letter every birthday and christmas, its endearing as hell and she keeps all of them in a special box
but then, as their mother lay dying when Ronnie was just 18, she confessed that she never wanted either of them to fly.
This changed Ronnie's mind on the subject - made her realize that being in the military and flying was never what she really wanted.
Maybe she had no idea what she wanted. All of her life up till that point had been spent fixated on a dream that wasn't even hers. And maybe that scared her a bit, cause she was about to graduate and now she had no idea what she was doing with her life.
bradley doesn't understand when she tells him that she's not joining up at first. but he gets over it eventually, too caught up in all his own stuff and problems
when he finally gets into TOPGUN after a four-year set back, she goes with him to Miramar and gets a job working a the bar on base (it's not called The Hard Deck till Penny buys it, in my head)
They're Bradshaws. They stick together. They only have each other at this point and she doesn't want to be alone. Her brother is safe and there's no one else to turn to.
And it's working at this bar that she meets Jake "Hangman" Seresin for the first time, another pilot in bradley's class
Their first relationship is just a lot of hookups to be honest. No real dates. Just Jake showing up at her apartment late at night and only staying for a morning coffee.
but towards the end, when he's about to graduate, they're both catching feelings hard (he won't admit that though, he just stays longer, kisses her more, lets her see those vulnerable bits of himself that no one else gets to).
and that scares Ronnie tbh. she doesn't want to end up like her mom. alone. afraid. but she likes jake. maybe they can make it work.
at this point in her life, she never calls him hangman. only jake. and that feels more intimate somehow.
also bradley doesn't know and never finds out about her relationship with hangman! cause she kinda knows that if he did find out he would kill them both.
he also comes to her apartment and rants about how hangman is a huge dick (did he do this one time while hangman was hiding in the closet? uh...yeah)
her and mavrick have a special kind of relationship, because she understands why he pulled bradley's papers. and also because she never got to even meet her father. he basically IS the father she never got to meet - it's the only way she's ever found anything out about him.
she learned to surf first, then longboard. living in southern california, she actually competed in several surfing competitions and could have gone pro - but she didn't want to leave bradley.
Happy ffwf!! Who is the hardest/easiest character for you to write? Any reason why? Also, happy Friday!
Happy FFWF!!
Oooo this is a tough question. I guess I'll go with Bam (also known as Jyu Viole Grace) as one of the hardest characters from the Tower of God fandom because I have no idea what's going through his head.
He used to be a huge Rachel simp (literally all his motivations and goals centered around her) but now they're enemies. He has next to no social skills, having spent the vast majority of his life in two caves. I have no idea where his level of education stands. Can he read? Can he write anything but his own name? Can he so simple day to day math? How emotionally competent is he? I know he cares about his friends and wants to keep them safe but like. doesn't everyone? Part of this is my fault, I breezed through the manga wayyyy to fast to absorb these details.
One of the easiest characters to write is Khun, also from the Tower of God fandom. Literally 3/4ths of his dialogue is Bam's name. 90% of his motivation and goals is to stay with Bam/help Bam achieve his goals/protect Bam (he once said he felt like the world would end if Bam wasn't there). He's literally the biggest Bam!simp. He's also pretty smart, if not a tad arrogant (with the resources & skills to back it up tho). Occasionally he's insecure because the people around him are getting more powerful than him, which is relatable.
happy fanfic writer friday! how do you "get into a character's head"? What helps you to understand them and write them better?
hmmmm hi hello let me think uhhhhh
I’m not really sure but uhh i know I’ve gotten a lot better at doing this the longer I’ve been writing because I tend to stick to the same ~couple~ characters and like practice makes perfect etc but I think the general gist is that i go looking for fics and meta and then I can decide hey I think this part is in character but not this part and bring it all together into as accurate a rendition as I can. though to be honest though I think most of the process is just me fixating on a character and a situation for a week and working things out through trial and error as I daydream and procrastinate on sleep
oh also sometimes when I get really stuck I just go OKay! time to rewatch a whole season to figure this little guy gn out. also also with characters that I haven’t really written before I usually compare+contrast them with ones that I’ve got near entirely figured out because that helps to make their voice distinct when I write and helps me recognize Hey! maybe not all characters are thee annabeth chase

Happy FFWF!!
It was a hard pick but I think I'll go with Suez Canal Shores, Greek Gods and Memes. It originally started as crack-ish humorous fanfic based on the infamous event when the Ever Given got stuck in the Suez Canal (the best thing that happened to tumblr since supernatural). But then it turned super fluffy with wholesome family vibes? And a small plot?
Essentially the captain (a distant relative of Hermes) asks for help to unstick the boat and the greek gods get involved by taking sides. Hermes ends up going to Percy, who has the ability to unstick the boat.
Thanks for the ask!!
Summary & link below:
The Ever Given’s Captain sits down in his office and covers his face in his hands. This is a disaster. A complete flaming heap of landfill - sized disaster, that will probably haunt him for the rest of his life.
~ ~ ~
“Brother,” Hermes addressed Apollo in their native tongue. “Look.”
Apollo looked up and glanced at Hermes’ phone, before laughing. “I’ve seen that meme already,” Apollo replied in ancient greek. “You’ll have to do better than that. Look at the one my son, Will Solace sent me.”
Apollo held up his phone and Hermes glanced at it. It consisted of three screenshots illustrating the Ever Given as Ragnarök who would defeat Global Capitalism, as Hela.
Hermes laughed. He had to admit, it was good.
Apollo looked smug, as if to say that his children made better memes. Hermes narrowed his eyes and glared, as if to say aww Styx no before scrolling through his phone, looking for more memes created by his children. The competition was on.

Happy Fanfic Writer Friday Art!!! Do you day dream obsessively over an idea until it’s written or plan out notes and outlines before you start? Both?
Happy Fanfic Writer Friday Superherotiger!!
The short answer is that I do both.
The long answer is that I usually daydream obsessively over an idea. Of the many, many ideas, only some of them get planned out notes and outlines. Of the ones that get outlines, only a few actually get written out. It's kinda like an elimination game? The fanfic ideas that don't pester me enough don't move on to the next round.
Although I will say that I have written one or two fanfics where I opened the doc without a clue of what I was going to write, aside from the characters and a single word theme. It's pretty rare tho.
Happy Fanfic Writer Friday!!! What’s your favourite gesture of affection (romantic or platonic) to write in your fics?
Happy Fanfic Writer Friday!!
This is a tough question; there's so many I like to write (and read)! Although if I had to choose it would be forehead kisses? They can be protective, sad, apologetic, loving, etc. and express so many different emotions across many different types of relationships? And each is no less amazing - and tender - than the other.
Unfortunately I haven't used forehead kisses in my fics very much. It's time to change that!! XD
Happy Fanfic Writer Friday (#FFWF)! What's your longest oneshot about? How about your longest multi-chapter fic?
longest multichapter fic is Peter Parkers Adventure Through Time and Space which clocks in at about 144k words and is getting a sequel unless I get heavily unmotivated and my longest oneshot is Last Man Standing which is about 8.7k unless you count The Sun Will Shine Again which is over 10k but is also a sequel to a fic that was supposed to be a oneshot but people liked it and I had more ideas for it. All of which are irondad centered fix-its for infinity war and endgame.
