WTF Is FFXIV Swap? Swap is a Discord community (founded by @sasslett) centered around digital art/gift exchanges based on our mutual love for XIV OCs. Members have gifted each other gposes, illustrations, song lists, written works, and even food recipes inspired by OCs.

How TF Does It Work? Every swap event has a sign-up period. Our members may register by submitting a form providing their OC info. Participants then get paired at random; mods can note down any "do not pair" requests. Gifters will have several months to make something about their recipient's OC.

What Else…? Swap participation is entirely optional. You can sign up for as many or as few events as you like. The server is also just a nice place to yap at length about your OCs and other headcanons.

Hey everyone.

A situation came up where we (the moderators of my Discord FFXIV server and I) were made aware by numerous people from across the community's discord and social media spaces that certain individuals were actively harassing the moderator of a prompt event unrelated to xiv. Mods reviewed everything and determined the individuals behaviors were egregious enough to present a potential safety risk for our community, and, combined with past, unacceptable behavior, they have been removed from my server. While we understand not everyone can see eye to eye all the time, harassing someone to a point of damaging their mental health is unacceptable and dangerous.

I'm only posting this here for the chance that you'll see defamation and harassment targeted towards me, my server or my mods. There's much I can say on this - too much, really - but I'd ask that anyone with concerns comes to me directly. The people I know and respect in this fandom already know of these people and what they've done.

Here's to having a drama-free year in a space where we can all enjoy each other's creations and uplift those around us, not target and harass those we don't agree with.

FFXIV Write - Swap Edition - Day 2 (Jaws of Death)

After the events of Ultima Thule...

“Clear!” Thancred struggled against Estinien’s hold, but the elezen didn’t budge. G’raha Tia ignored both of them, placing his hands on Kal’istae’s unmoving chest and shoving a bolt of lightning into her heart. Her body jolted and Thancred spasmed, crying out.

Y’shtola spared a glance for Alphinaud. “You’re sure this will work?” she demanded as she took ahold of the Warrior’s shoulders once more and let her aether seep into her lifeless  body.

Not so lifeless. Even as Alphinaud babbled out the research that had led him to suggesting this course of action, the sorceress busied herself with chasing down that spark of life that even now threatened to burn itself out. “Raha, now!”

She barely snatched her hands away before the bolt slammed into Kal’istae. Behind her, Thancred screamed and she lunged forward, grabbing Kal’istae’s quivering shoulders and shoving them down onto the ground. “Alphinaud, Urianger, follow me!”

She felt their aether join her own as they swarmed over that flickering, stubborn spark of life. Together, they shoved their power into it, feeding it until it fanned into a flame. 

Kal’istae’s gasp broke the tense silence.

“She’s alive!” Thancred yelped, tearing himself free of Estinien and throwing himself down beside her. The moment he took ahold of her hand, she gasped again and Y’shtola yelped as her aether was forcibly sucked out of her. Urianger threw himself at the other two, breaking their connection with the Warrior.

Kal’istae’s eyes fluttered open, her head turning towards the gunbreaker. Reaching out, he brushed his finger over her cheek. “Kali,” he murmured, and she gazed up at him and gave him a tremulous smile. He exhaled sharply and knelt there, holding her hand and praying in thanks that they had managed to snatch their beloved companion back from the jaws of death.
