Odette’s faith is part of her every act. You see it in the lines of her brow, the pinch and purse and pluck of her lips, the gestures of her hands. You see it when she moves in front of you to take a blow meant for you, to prevent your retaliation. It rings in her voice when she speaks her mind; all prayer soft and chilly. Not… cold as in distant. Cold as in come closer. Cold as in, bundle yourself within the down of her love so that you might weather the storm together.

It is the thing that makes her tears so precious when she cries over a slain primal. Over a dead garlean. Over a lonely grave overlooking a city. It is in the waves of her too loud braying donkey laugh when you say something juuust inappropriate enough. You left your faith behind in Ishgard. When it was clear Halone allowed corruption to fester in her worship. When Halone did not deem to prevent your injury, when you lay dying in the holy halls of the Vault and thought She’d come for you. Stand over your writhing body and release you from the pain of it all. Draw you into Her frozen Heaven.

In the end it was only Odette. Kneeling at your side with tears in her eyes, tracks of fallen ones carving paths through the blood on her face. An expression of grim understanding. Her hands are on you but they feel so far away. A memory of a memory of a memory. You’ve never seen her touch another person. A hand - yours - reaches for a fall of her hair; pure and iridescent like moonlit snow. Then it was like ice water in your veins. A pain that flooded and filled every ilm of your body, etched on the contours of your bones. You woke four days later. You left Ishgard with her.

Later in your life, when you are old and your body hurts from your adventures and your keen eyes are foggy with age, you’ll once again ponder about faith, about the fate of your mortal soul. And when she takes your hand and runs her thumb across your knuckles, presses a kiss to the back of it and you admire a face that has been untouched by the passage of time you will know only comfort. In the end, it is only Odette.

Another design is using 2 20x25x1 filters, taping them to the sides of the box fan and then to each other so they sort of make a triangle, then cutting cardboard to make a top and bottom to the triangle.
