For some reason, almost all official artworks that has both Enkidu and Gilgamesh are all have Enkidu being at the left side of Gilgamesh Not sure if this is intentional, but there is a general preception in Japan about how men tend to have their lover at their left side

it's explained as "heart=left side so important things that must be protected are in the left" also, general walking position (right side = closer to the street = dangerous)

Enkidu is stated in the Epic to have “the seat of honour to [Gil’s] left” so it’s more or less a canon thing  as far as the original story is concerned
