the cardosa’s are a family of crow shifters, their history heavily intertwined with a prominent family of witches ( might?? leave their name open for now !! ). 

because of this, they have often become their familiars, giving protection, enhancing their magic, aiding in their practice & everyday life. 

the witch family is very prominent though and has a lot of influence, which the cardosa’s have helped to build. they don’t get recognition and they don’t expect it, but they both reap the benefits. 

avil was expected to follow this path, paired with one of the younger witches when he was just a child. once they were older and expected to bond, avil rejected it completely. 

long story short, he suffered the consequences and was punished for it. 

at 17, he escaped his family estate and ran with nothing but a backpack really. 

he carried a few odd jobs for a while til he realized how easy it was to use his abilities to get information on people. crows can see & hear a lot. and information brokering is fun.

pay him a pretty penny and he’ll get whatever you what. pay him just a penny, and he’ll still do it.

he’s also picked up ice skating as a hobby, and he’s trying to keep it strictly that--a hobby. he doesn’t need to be in any kind of limelight lest he attract his family’s attention.

he always broke af though ( and will gladly mooch off of anyone )

knows a lot about magic because of his background and can do a bit himself. not very powerful though. just basic spells and the like. he’s no witch.
