Question to the Readers!

so I'm at a point with the fic, while I'm like editing and adding new scenes on new days, on Chapter 46 where... u know... things get a little more heated between Star and a Nameless Ghoul. But I've seen people in the comments on ao3 saying they love how wholesome the story is and I want to keep it that way. It will stay wholesome anyways, but you know, Star is exploring these things now.

I'm thinking of creating like a "B-Side" as a separate work that would include the scenes as I've already got them with the smuttier stuff (its still a totally slow build for Star though, but it specifically describes her first moments of being turned on and how she deals with that in the moment for example) and I think I could rewrite those parts I've got into sort of PG Chapters and link in the summary to the "B-Side" which has those Chapters with the smut and exploration of sexuality and intimacy?

Like a choose-your-own-level-of-smut?

Anyone in the fic world got advice or ideas?

Or any readers with opinions?

(G) - General Audiences

(T) - Teen and Up

(M) - Mature

(E) - Explicit (nsfw)

(NR) - Not Rated

If you check fics on AO3 make sure to also look at the Major Archive Warnings (such as graphic depictions of violence, rape/non-con and major character death) and Additional Tags that can help you know what the story entails!

Please, don’t worry. I apologise if my rant was a bit rough, but I write to have fun, you know, not to feel like I’m writing an essay to be graded! And there’s no problem if you want to have your own rating fics method, I just wish people would remember to not make it public.

I was wondering if you would mind changing partners into an E rating? I'm not sure why it isn't already, but if you look at fics where rape or sexual assault is involved they are often rated M in this fandom while smut is rated E. It just seems a little backward and I think it would be good to start changing that.

Ah, I can change it when I post the next chapter. I can’t speak for other writers, but I know for my part/my decision, it’s because I do my best to tag/label it with the warnings for rape and sexual assault and then I don’t write those scenes in an explicit manner (nor do I feel that the consensual sex scenes are very explicit when compared to similar scenes in other fics).

That isn’t a complaint to your request, just me trying to explain why I rated it the way I did. I always go back and forth and debate what to rate a fic.

People critiquing fanfiction is like if someone came uninvited to eat at your house and you’re actually welcoming them in, asking what they want to eat and they say « oh whatever » so you’re making them a nice meal and sitting down with them even though you already ate and they start telling you there’s too much salt or that they don’t like beef.

Like, no one asked you bitch! If you want something else there are other people’s houses (other fics) or restaurants you know where you can pay for your meal and then be entitled to complain (published books)

Those dark fics from mondaycore are soooo good!! I've reread their lestappen multiple times in the last two months and gave them 4/4 stars in my bookmarks, the perfect recommendations <3

4/4 is such an interesting rating system...... public bookmarks are such an interesting place. I once got a '3/5 not bad not great' which was hurtful....... they kinda spilled tho it wasn't bad, it wasn't great but yeah would've preferred that one to be private 🫥

Ok, so I've gotten requests to turn some of my short fics into multichapter series, and I would love to do that (in the new year of course), BUT y'all need to pick one.  I think the top two right now are Anytime (flat tire au) and It's Better With Two (same taxi/coat closet au).

Basically, by the end of the year which ever one has the most kudos + notes will be my next long fic project.
