one year and one day ago i posted my first everlark fanfic on ao3! i was so excited to write this when i thought of the idea i wrote the entire thing in the notes app on my phone from 11PM-2AM in one sitting, checked it over the next morning for any errors, and posted it. i hadn’t rejoined tumblr yet, so it was really a shout to the void lol.

May fic throwback

this is the first RWRB fic ever posted to AO3! I got an ARC from a friend who owns a bookstore and cranked this out before the book was even released (side brag: I 100% predicted the success of not only the book but the future movie adaptation 48 pages into reading it). I love writing hockey AUs—I have at least 2 other NHL AUs and 2 beer league AUs in progress, all in different fandoms—and the enemies-to-fake-bros-to-lovers dynamic made this one absolutely perfect for it. I fell back into RWRB fandom this year and wrote like 20k, including part of a sequel to this, but none of it is ready to be posted yet and my muse has been extremely temperamental lately so I guess we'll see if any of it ever sees the light of day XD

Happy almost-anniversary to Casual Love, No Casualties! A fic I hand-wrote this time last year and didn’t get around to publishing until February! It is best summed up by this quote from chat: 

I'm afraid to count how many Claude/Flower pages I've written because I still!!! Haven't!!! Gotten to the sex!!! It's all bossy aftercare and flirting lololol

It is also almost the anniversary of That Game between VGK and the Flyers where Flower straight-up Robbed Claude of like three goals and the gifs caused me to spontaneously catch fire. So, cheers!

March fic throwback

this is the kind of story that has always come most naturally to me: short, punchy, figurative. it's about toilets in the post-apocalypse, and things that get left behind. (and the timelessness of Queen, which in retrospect is definitely a subconscious Good Omens reference XD)

February fic throwback

The History Bros (Check Please, Jack/Bitty, 4k), posted February 27th, 2018

this is one of my favorite things I've ever written. I love The History Boys (my first tattoo is gonna be a History Boys reference) and I loved planning this fic, deciding which parts of hockey history to cover and how to gradually integrate it with Jack's own life to guide him toward reckoning with how he fits into it all. I put a lot of effort into trying to do this well (here's a deep-dive on how I approached one specific moment in it compared to a similar scene in a then-new episode of Ted Lasso) and I'm proud of the way the fic turned out.

January fic throwback

Problem Exists Between Needle And Lounge Chair (Inception, Arthur/Eames, 3k), posted January 30th, 2011

This is a fic about tech support for dreamsharing equipment. I had graduated college the previous year and was working in a neurophysiology lab, and while everyone else in Inception fandom was happily building castles in the antagonistic-partners-in-crime-to-lovers sandbox, I was busy trying to retcon a satisfactory explanation for how the PASIV device could possibly work. I never actually wrote fic about that specifically, but the concept of PASIV tech support emerged out of those ponderings. Plot pacing has always been a weakness for me and at 20 years old I didn't execute it very well, but I still think there are some interesting ideas in this.
