writing for rogue one is somehow even worse than writing historical fic
historical fic it’s like “how many miles in a day can you travel on a horse” “new orleans to dallas distance” “19th century fever cures”
rogue one it’s like “what are the guardians of the whills” “zama-shiwo” “chirrut imwe echo-box transmitter” “what are charcoal kasaya robes” “difference between force-sensitive and force-attuned” “what the hell is kyber silver” “what the hell is uneti wood” “i give up i’m writing a coffee shop AU”
on the one hand I get jealous of writers who can post a quality 3000+ word fic every month, on the other I uselessly poked at a thing multiple times in October only for it to start crystalizing in my head in the past few days. so.
Is anyone else hopelessly stuck on what to write for the sidgenoficexchange? Like the person I matched with asked for stuff that is 100% up my alley and stuff I love to write but I'm drawing a blank. I kind of want to write a prequel to Heart is Full (Sid is a teen parent fic) but that would totally give away who I am and that ruins the fun of an anonymous fic exchange.
Ugh. What am I going to do? Anyone have a good prompt list they enjoy?
Ugh, I hate going back and reading earlier chapters of your fic only to realize that you overuse a word. There really should be a name for the cringe-inducing embarrassment that follows.
Mistakesabun?
DisappointmentyMcwordvom?
in other news, this exchange fic has drifted sooo far from the prompt, I AM SO SORRY ANONYMOUS PERSON.
Finally! First draft of my one-shot complete. 18,871 words in a week.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let the revising not be as hellish as usual.
