my favorite people are the ones who get to the end of ch 2 of divinitus and they’re like “omg! i wonder what’s gonna happen next! they’re so in love! they should run away together!” and i just have this pained smile on my face like “yes… they’re so… in love… they… indeed are… it’d be a bummer if something… happened…” 😬

how is divinitus treating you these days

me and divinitus are making eyes at each other across the room like exes who haven’t seen each other in a year but are both currently seeing other people so the tension and desire is there, but there are obstacles in the way of our love and perhaps we need a little more time to finish the relationships we’re currently in before we can fall in love again

15. What did you learn from writing this fic?

that i probably never want to write about gender again 😭 it was... yeah it was a lot sometimes. and i think we've had this discussion before in DMs but idk it was really hard to pour so much of my own journey into Regulus and then put it out there for that many people to read. CMU was the first story i wrote that "took off," so to speak, and it wasn't the story i really thought ever would? def thought it'd get a little fun following and stuff. i didn't expect it to hit tiktok the way it did. so to have that many people reading about Reg's journey when it was so heavily based on how i feel about gender... rip. rip rip rip rip.

i can't tell you how many times i would post a chapter and be terrified people would invalidate Reg (and me, by extension) in the comments. or when Reg started using they/them in the narrative rather than he/him. or the moments we had glimpses of she/her, too. i would be shaking opening the comments section bc i knew one (1) bad comment was gonna take me out and that wasn't fun like...at all.

that being said, the amount of people who've reached out to say that Reg's story means a lot to them and made them feel seen has been really special. i wouldn't trade that for the WORLD. the people who've reached out saying they scheduled top surgeries or breast reductions bc of CMU Reg, or people who went to their first AA meetings bc of CMU — yeah, those messages make the stress and anxiety of writing about gender worth it. but i don't think that i could do it again.

2. What scene did you first put down?

technically the whole story! it was a microfic that i posted in like June or July of 2023, and then i decided to expand it later that year in December, but i used the original microfic as inspiration. so technically the whole thing. buuuuut the very first scene is the first one i put down, when Reg summons James and they make the deal 🙂‍↕️
