More AppleShadow (Lucifer/Alastor's Shadow) ideas because I cannot stop thinking about them.
Alastor does not steal trinkets, but his Shadow sure does. Lucifer finds out on accident through another resident, and starts keeping a close eye on the Radio Demon, warding his wing of the hotel to keep the Demon out. Too bad he's put up no wards against the eldritch entity that is The Shadow, because his stuff is STILL going missing. Man. This radio demon guy is more powerful than Lucifer gave him credit for.
In the spirit of fairness, The Shadow also brings Lucifer gifts! Having been around Alastor for so long, most of these gifts come in the form of corpses. That one guy from market street that giggled when Lucifer had tripped the other day? The journalist who'd written a scathing article about the monarch? Guy from the deli who gave him wheat bread when he asked for rye? All fair game. And very romantic gifts. Lucifer views these as a threat.
Lucifer is perfectly threatening when he wants to be, but The Shadow seems to have taken extra precautions, leering menacingly at anyone that seems threatening. Lucifer is starting to wonder why people keep ending conversations with him so abruptly.
Other guests wrongly assume that the connection between Lucifer and Alastor's shadow has to do with a budding relationship between Lucifer and Alastor himself, which horrifies both men equally. It's the one thing they can agree on.
When he does find out, Lucifer threatens to sew Alastor's shadow to his shoes Peter Pan style if a single rubber duck goes missing.
When the Shadow annoys Lucifer, the first line of defense is light. Lucifer's room becomes an homage to Tesla himself, every corner of the place lit up brightly. He eventually gives this tactic up, because apparently even the Morningstar can get migraines from trying to sleep in a room bathed in brightness.
The Shadow, usually kept from Lucifer by his aura, loves the moments when Luci goes dark, when the aura fades - most often when he's alone in his room- because it will wrap itself around the King like a weighted blanket, finally able to get close.
The King, still unsure on the exact nature of this shadow but at least now aware of it as an entity separate from Alastor, allows the Shadow to stay close and gets the best sleep of his life.
