For start, character doesn't have to follow the character to the T. Lets take Hazel for example; allusion is Hansel, malnourished boy, yet Hazel is hulking middle aged man. So there will definitely always be some creative liberties taken.

I didn't know the first one, sounds kinda hillarious. That's pretty straightforward considering Jaune is a biggest thirst trap in all of RWBY.

Although interestingly enough, common statement among Joan's comrades, especially during the rehabilitation trial, was that they felt no sexual attraction towards her.

As for latter, that's a part of a Joan's attempt to instil moral values into the soldiers. That included getting them to pray, no swearing, avoiding slaughter and pillaging, and of course, chasing away prostitutes. Now, Jaune works under different circumstances, because unlike Joan's comrades, his comrades are "good guys." There is no need for Jaune to instil good moral values in them, considering they already have them. At most, this might come up with Jaune interacting with some former villains like Emerald, and hopefully eventually Cinder.

I would say that arkos is the reverse of Salem x ozma ( jaune is the Salem in this situation ( except he moves on from his grief)

Yeah, Arkos is indeed Ozlem but with Jaune being Salem.

Pyrrha also has green eyes, and Ozpin directly compares her to himself. They are also both famous heroes who died young.

But wouldn't call that reverse Ozlem, it's genderswapped Ozlem. They are rethreading the same steps as Ozlem. They are not unique in that regard, Blake and Adam are also genderswapped Ozlem.

To me, reverse Ozlem is about reversing the dynamic Ozlem had; flipping lovers to enemies, to enemies to lovers.

he had a weapon that uses fire dust and tried to mess with pyrrha and jaune and jaune ended up saving cardin from a grimm bear when she was abandoned by his team

cinder is someone who uses fire and outright killed pyrrha

so maybe jaune will save cinder after she is abandoned

Cardin(al) of Winchester, Henry Beaufort. Although he was simply an interrogator, not the chief prosecutor, that was Bisnop of Beauvais, Pierre Cauchon. Winchester often gets more sympathetic treatment as someone who regretted his actions and found an eventual symbolic reconciliation with Joan.

Yes, I think that's entirely possible, and that Jaundice could serve as one of the blueprints for the conclusion of Jaune's and Cinder's story; Jaune extending his hand and saving Cinder from inevitable Grimm corruption, while she develops a respect for him.

Watts' rant against Cinder is kinda ironic because most of it applies to himself; he is entitled, thinking he deserves all the recognition. I find his mindset overall to be wrong, it seems he thinks people are inherently worthy or not. So he is worthy and deserves everything, while Cinder is not. Worth noting that episode in which Cinder gets rid of Ruby and seemingly wins, is called Worthy. She is worthy, contrary to what she, Watts and others believe.

Yes, that's an interesting trend I noticed as well. It's one of the reasons why I like the idea of Jaune being the mold breaker. Both Salem and Madame hammered an idea in Cinder's head that she is unworthy. How about someone who also has self-worth issues tell her she is already worthy?

That kind of ties it all back to the Joan of Arc story, where the King needs to be told he is worthy by someone like Joan, after the years of being told he is a failure, bastard, and illegitimate.

you know jaunes semblance can be a foil to curious cats ability who uses his ability to takes bits of himself to overwhelm who someone his while jaune uses his soul to reinforce someone elses soul ( which reminds me of when jaune got neptune to overcome his insecurity to dance with weiss)

He’s awkward, clumsy and weak yet persuasive, smart and a fast learner. His backstory puts his clumsy battle inexperience into perspective and shows just what he’s up against in an academy that is far above his level. He is really determined to become the kind of person who can protect people and once he begins to apply himself, his skills start developing very fast. Also, Ozpin mentions to Ruby that the skills required for dancing and fighting are connected, and Jaune turns out to be an extremely accomplished dancer, sum to that his naturally large aura and his quick thinking. He also resolves Neptune’s insecurities after he turned down Weiss at the dance. Let’s point out that this was meant to be Neptune’s secret, Jaune just convinced Neptune to confess his problems to him and then encouraged Neptune in overcoming his insecurities

Honestly, as a Kingdom Hearts fan who's aware that Monty Oum was a Kingdom Hearts fan, "giving pieces of their heart to people to change their behavior" should've been a red-flag to me, because that's how the (at the time of RWBY v1) Big Bad of the Kingdom Hearts series controls his minions: He contaminated their hearts with pieces of his own in order to turn them into vessels for his will. while the mc uses parts of his heart to heal someone elses who was damaged in an experiment for the big bads plans.

Yeah, that's the thing. People think too small when it comes to Jaune. Not only are his abilities antithesis to Grimm (soul vs soulless), they also have potential to be grossly overpowered when taken to logical conclusion.

He can amplify Aura, he is not just healer. And pretty much all abilities in RWBY are tied back to Aura. He has potential to be Joan of Arc, making average band of soldiers seem invincible with just his presence.

Here are all the things Jaune should be able to do when it comes to Aura amplification:

Make someone super strong or fast, since Aura boosts physical abilities.

Make any object super strong, since you can pour your Aura into objects.

Make someone super durable, which is one of Aura's main abilities. V1 Jaune was able to harden his Aura so hard it hurt Cardin when he struck it.

Aura regeneration, meaning he should be able to make someone instantly recover their Aura (which we saw with Weiss)

Healing, which is something we mostly see with Jaune. But keep in mind, Hazel was able to instantly regenerate getting impaled by Weiss. So if someone can accomplish that with just Aura training, Jaune should be able to go even beyond that.

Resistance to mind control, which we saw in V8 with Penny.

Semblance boosting, which we saw both with Ren and Weiss. Weiss went from barely summoning Armas Gigas and jobbing to Vernal, to summoning Queen's Lancer and inflicting more damage to Hazel then anyone up to that point. Ren was able to cloak entire train, when usually his Aura collapses as soon as he tries to use his Semblance on multiple people

And we saw many other crazy Aura uses: extending Aura, ranged Aura attacks, creating life from Aura. All things Jaune could theoretically boost.

So I find it bizarre when people just reduce his role in future volumes to: looking pretty and occasionally healing someone. He has potential to be key piece in many upcoming plotpoints, but is ultimately gated by Jaune himself not understanding and undervaluing his abilities.

I think Jaune's stay in Ever After parallels several characters.

His treatment of Paper Pleasers parallels Salem's father. He became toxicly overprotectice due to trauma he suffered, even going against the will of the ones he is trying to protect. But Salem and her father are similar in some regards, so this could be a parallel to Salem as well.

His treatment of Alyx parallels Rhodes, who also fails in the end because he is more concerned with following the rules, rather than seeing the person in front of him. I see Rhodes as sort of Ozma, but a failure.

But ultimately it's a parallel to many of Ozma's incarnations. He is a failed hero, unable to save anyone. There are elements of Infinite Man, Wizard, as well as Ozpin. I think his dynamic with RWBY is similar to Maidens story.

While Jaune does have some Salem elements (especially in regards to Pyrrha), I think he is primarily Oz parallel.

I presume you are thinking of Knightfall-related theories. Because if it's about things I yap in general, we'd be here all day.

So I mostly stick to two styles of theories:

One is Reverse Ozlem (which isn't mine, but I agree with it), where most major relationships in some answer Salem's and Ozma's failed relationship. In this case, Cinder and Jaune are another Salem and Ozma, but with their stories going in reverse. Cinder starts as a Grimm villainess, and Jaune starts as a fraud, and they start by hating each other, which is Ozlem's endpoint (there is also a significant visual parallel between their first meeting, and Ozlem's last). The goal is to take the story in reverse, going from lovers->enemies to enemies->lovers. It's an answer to the central conflict, showing reconciliation was always possible, despite the strong animosity between them.

Second is Joan of Arc Knightfall. I think there are enough parallels between Jaune and Joan, and Cinder and Charles VII/Dauphin for me to consider it a viable allusion. Cinder takes the role of the despised and doomed king, who is then saved by the unlikeliest individual. Jaune doing something seemingly so wild and out of character would also play into the heretic motif Joan of Arc had. I have a summary post for this one, to spare you some yapping.
